I love the boldness and confidence you go in again and again, layering, then layering more with watercolours. I can tell you it was frightening for me to watch ( enough, enough my head said ) but exciting. You've shown me not to be timid around Klee's wonderful art and watercolour painting in general. Thank you for the inspiration

This is terrific. Especially if the fundamentals of watercolor seem intimidating. A project like this lets you get some time on target with the medium and have some fun. Success with something like this can build confidence and the desire to learn more. You are an asset to the community sir. Thank you.

This is interesting: sun (yellow) and water (blue) creates greens, something philosophical in it ;)! Thank you for the video, very inspirational! It take away barriers and enables you to start creating!

This is a most innovative way of creating lines -- you always amaze me! The colors and color layering is most instructive. Thank you for taking the time to share this!

simply beautiful, I love work with little flaws like Klee's, it's what gives the piece that bit of drama. Wonderful Dan.

Thanks for this demo, I really enjoyed watching. I was familiar with the name Paul Klee but not his technique which is interesting.

Thanks I will give this a try. Was wondering what the string was about but it does give a character to the lines.

Looks like great fun to do, and beautiful results- thank you! Do you need to wait until the oil paint dries before adding watercolor? I just wonder if the physical touch of the brush over the paint can smear it, or maybe it’s fine as long as one paints delicately around the lines?

No try working over wet oil paint ( use an old brush) for interesting blurred line effects.

Confused/Missed a Step - I just discovered your tutorials and am enjoying them very much. but on this one I think I missed a step. It appears you start by applying the oil paint to a sheet of acetate/clear plastic. BUT, around 7:20 there is a brief time lapse and it now appears you are painting just on paper. Did I miss the printing step = did you then flip the acetate sheet and use it to print the design on the paper?

I would recommend a smooth paper or card for this 200gsm cartridge paper would be ideal.
