Getting a better understanding of the techical aspects of a self-tape (camera axis, eyeline, and out of frame action) was really helpful to know.

Great video with some really good tips. I would say: If you're moving backwards and forwards... Make sure your camera has good auto focus.. Or a good focus puller.

Compeltely agree, that's why I tell people to film on their phones instead of on cameras. Most cameras aren't great for self taping. I say it all the time.

I didn’t understand the point about the prop ie the important document. Are you saying ace the prop completely or make it more naturalistic? 😊

Cool video! Does anyone know if there is a way to do what the app called coldRead does, but instead of it being a phone app, having it on your mac, so that you can shoot with your phone? Thanks!

Dan, I am really enjoying your videos, quality, and personality. Do you think that too much shadow in my self tape is bad? I heard that you were supposed to be fully lit. But I am all about breaking rules. Lol. What has your reaction been with cinematic self tapes?
