Self empowerment and being your highest authority is such an important element in freeing yourself and healing. I am so glad that you talk about it Terri. Wonderful video and great information as always. I Love herbal teas and usually have a cup of Chamomile and Holy Basil in the evening. Also for the home my evening mix in the diffusor is chamomile and lavender. I hope to have a garden like yours soon!

I've just finished foraging for St. John's wort and making both a tincture and a salve where it is a native plant here in Northern Idaho, USA, where I live. I love the "construct" of your videos, the cut aways of your garden, the dogs, cats, sky, sunsets, sea. It seems that Lowell (sp?) may be quietly instrumental in your videos? At any rate, I love your channel. It is a constant inspiration. I'm starting a lavender infused oil to eventually use in soap making. Thank you, thank you, for sharing your lovely, healing garden rife with the spirits and sprites of Nature.

All the little animal shots are great. Your garden Terri with all of the growth of so many different things looks brilliant. I had to cut some of my hedge to get at the garden gate but I hated to do that as the hedge was so bursting with life. Was wondering could I move the gate instead but unfortunately not. I am finding one of my favourite herbs is the adaptogen Rhodiola but I think it grows in the artic though would be very handy to have in the garden. I liked the Lemon Balm tea more than the Dandelion tea that I made to try. Also been trying a mushroom complex supplement but that didn't go so well. Back to using my earthing bedsheet and that seems to be working better & I think all these things are connected as being naturopathic.
@DanusIrishHerbGarden
@DanusIrishHerbGarden Жыл бұрын
I tried growing Rhodiola here but it didn't like the damp or the high winds. I need to cut a lot of hedging too as it is getting too high and we lost a bush to wind last year. It is so hard to do though so I know what you are going through. xx

Thank you for this. I have vervain growing wild in my meadow, but it is white vervain, or verbena urticifolia. I cannot find any references in my books on whether this is concomitant to blue vervain, or sacred vervain. Do you have any idea? I have tried it in tea and it is bitter. Your lace capped hydrangea is lovely.
@DanusIrishHerbGarden
@DanusIrishHerbGarden Жыл бұрын
Blue Vervain is a completely different plant and as it doesn't grow here, it grows in America and is also known as American Vervain, I don't really know very much about it. I think it is mainly used for pain. Our Vervain - Verbena officinalis is a bitter herb which is very good for us. xx

Peri-menopause is a con, a scam. If it was something "medical" it would start at approximately the age of 12. Don't worry about it. If you mean pre-menopause, as you begin to go through the change, there are lots of herbs that can relieve the powerful experience of transition xx

I really love to make infusions to drink, my go to every day is stinging nettle with elderberries, my body just screams out for it. I was, not now but i fostered Dogs that had come from horrific situations & left them mentally upset & quite by accident i was trimming the catnip & i had a wee foster boy outside with me, he had survived an awful dog hoarding & cruelty situation, anyway i looked behind me to see that this English Bull Terrier had made a nest in off cuts, he was asleep & content. So i dried the catnip & made a cloth collar & put the catnip in & it was wonderful to see him relax & not living in fear so i love catnip, will try it myself. Thank You for all You share, much appreciated. 🦋

* QUESTION: You mention so many wonderful herbs for support & healing as in this video rosemary, chamomile, lavender etc. for stress; however, there are many varieties of these plants. You are right, and the ornamental varieties may not have the same medicinal properties. Medicinal plants tend to have vulgare or officinale or officinalis in their latin names. Lemon Balm for example is Melissa officinalis; Lavender is Lavendula officinalis, Vervain is Verbena officinalis, ...

It depends on several things such as the size of the person, the age of the person, whether the issue is acute or chronic.. a general rule of thumb is 3-5ml for an adult, or a drop per age for children up to 10/12. Someone else has replied with some good advice too.

I look forward to your weekly videos. As a family/community herbalist for more than 30 yrs, I find myself finishing your sentences. We obviously teach/preach/encourage so similarly. And I'd bet we have studied with the same teachers. You were near the end of this vid, and I said "wait! you didn't mention Rosemary...".....20 seconds later, you did. LOL This may help someone else, so I wanted to post: my brother died very unexpectedly several years ago, and my world tilted on its axis; after several months of feeling like I was walking through water and looking at the world through glass bricks, I mixed up a tea of Oatstraw (to physically nourish the nervous system)/Chamomile (to calm)/Lemon Balm (to get me out of my own head) in equal parts, and for more than a year I drank 2-4 quarts a day (it is good hot or iced)....to this day, I swear it saved me. Herbs are truly a blessing.

Thank you for this amazing film… I have such anxiety at the moment . This has been exasperating by going through menopause.. are the herbs you mentioned okay to take with HRT medication ? Many thanks again . Maddie

You would be better to check with a herbalist near to you as I don't know which medication you are taking and which herbs you intend to take. xx

Thank you, Terri! Just looking at your beautiful herbal gardens is a stress reliever. My favorite mantra when I'm stressed, anxious, or fearful is "I am Safe. I am Happy. I am Healthy. I am at Peace." Especially effective with eyes closed and slow breaths. 💚

I just adore you! Thank you! I found you a few months back. May I ask, do you gave a chart or website that has a list of Plant/Moon/Sign Correspondence?? You mention Gere Lemon Balm cycles with the moon. I would love to learn more..❤ Do you teach classes online? I am very far from Ireland..😊. And I am of the Italian ways however I am very connected to Celtic ways as well..

Your garden is beautiful -- the music, herbs swaying, chickens,dogs and most of all your presence and kind sharing are just what we all need. Thank you. Did you sense worldwide anxiety, because it seems strong at the moment? Have a wonderful workshop.

Wonderful advice! Thank you so much for sharing this. I am from the Texas Hill Country in the USA. I think borage is something that I should definitely try. A lot of anxiety and stress. I've tried chamomile tea and it was organic and everything but my nose ran for 3 days so I guess I have an allergy to that. That's just too bad lol 😅

Did anyone else see that crescent shaped cloud near the roofline, it looked like a profile of a baby’s face, so sweet and a nice reminder that there’s more to life than meets the eye. Wonder full video.
