People get it straight. The only proper way to turn pro is to be good enough to compete with the pros in a pro contest or for the skate shops calling your sponsors asking for a pro board/shoe. Creating your own new company in order to turn yourself pro does not count and 99% of the time doesn’t work.

Back in the days, the best way to get sponsors would be getting attention through competition, put out sponsored videos etc. Things change, everything always changes if you like it or not.
