Today we embark on a 3 part journey to find the most unique and incredible skatepark/skate spots In Amsterdam. This episode kicks off with our journey from stansted, picking up a new FA deck from the local skate shop (Ben G) An then heading to Amsterdams biggest skatepark, Located 15 minutes from the city centre in Zeeburg!

After going to a bunch of other parks after this one, The vibe I got from all the local skaters was that this park is pretty much all round disliked. Maybe that explains why it was almost 100% empty for the 3 hours we where there.

As a rollerblader, I love this park. The bowls are incredible, the large bowl has a nice fly-out bit. The ledges are long, you can build up the intensity very nicely. The long rail is sweet as well. The transitions on the smaller bits are very weird. I've skated a lot of parks made by Skateon, and they all have the same issues with shitty transition.

The video is informative and well done, but you could have posted it without the clickbait title. For what it's worth, the bowl/pool part of the skatepark is excellent. Transitions are well built, the surface is really smooth, grippy and fast. The small bowl has tiles and good coping, and it has a minimalist design in order to learn how to pump and carve well. The middle bowl has many interesting features and many possible lines. The deep pool is crazy steep and deep. It's scary to drop there and it's hard to pump, but pros seem to be pretty happy with it. It's much scarier in real life than in the video, as you mentioned. This whole bowl section was designed by Rune Glifberg, and the plan was to allow skaters to train for the Olympics. The locals who were riding the bowls and pools seemed to be pretty happy.

I live in The Netherlands too, anytime a local skater from where i live (near Groningen) goes to this park, they say the same things about the park and the obstacles. However, during the summer its extremely busy there i've heard 😅 Secondly; our town (Veendam) just got a skatepark last year. If you're up for the 3 hour train ride, maybe you could review it? Just tipping you off 🙏🏻

Thank you for your honest review. I live in Amsterdam nearby this skatepark and I completely agree with the criticism you mentioned. There are several nice parts in this skatepark, but as a whole it is a complete waste of money. The layout and skatability of this park is terrible. Most of the transitions are way to steep, which makes tricks like 50/50 grinds and smith grinds the best tricks attainable. Learning new lip tricks is nearly impossible in this park. The street part is lacking many usual obstacles, the huge hip with the bench on top is only approachable from one side. I can go on and on. For this kind of money Amsterdam deserves a better skatepark. However, I do skate this park occasionally because it is fun to cruise around in the large bowls and the vibe is always friendly. A döner / pizza and a small supermarket are right next to the park. By the way, Amsterdam has many other skateparks that are worth a visit, but they are way smaller.

Hey man thanks for the comment. Yeah we went to quite a few parks and i especially liked the olympiaplein one. marnix bowl was really nice as well. but you are totally right about that park, they could have done so much more.

It is not allowed in this specific skatepark. Every graffiti is deleted the very next day. However, in most other skatepark around here it is allowed.

On the first night of the opening, 2 huge graffiti’s were done on the virgin concrete of the park bowl…They removed it very quickly…

It's in a residential area where home owners would see the value of their property diminish if they let graffiti slide. In the week of the opening, they actually had a dozen cops kick out all the skaters not just from the park, but out the whole area after the specified opening hours. The street section is an embarrassment for the 2 million euros this park cost
