Upgrade your gears for uphill climbing!
In mountain biking, one of the ways to make your bike go uphill faster is to pedal faster in the same gear. Do bigger cassettes help reducing uphill resistance?
Today I’m going to install this 11-46T cassette on my Trek 930 Singletrack. The cassette features 8 cogs, low from 46 tooth cog to high 11 tooth cog.
The smaller the cog, the faster you can go. On the other hand, the larger the cog, the less resistance you get when you climb on steep hills.
This is going to be an upgrade from the old 7-speed 11-28T cassette.
The largest cog is hitting the derailleur. In order to fit properly, you need to install a long cage derailleur and a hanger extension (provided).
Part installed:
Ztto 8-Speed 11-46T Cassette (46T, 40T, 34T, 28T, 22T, 13T, 11T)
