Gage's doctor said that as he was treating the wound, Gage vomited, and the force of retching caused a chunk of brain (said to be about a "teaspoon" of brain) to come loose and Gage expelled it out of his mouth. The doctor also noted that upon his arrival at Phineas's home, he could see Gage's brain pulsating inside the the hole. Gage had mostly recovered his social skills by the time of his death 12 years later.

The first segment really hits the nail on the head. I just watched a video that included a Kubrick interview, and most of the comments were people insisting that what he said isn't REALLY what the movies were about, but that their own theory is clearly definitive and he was just playing coy by not agreeing with them. The capacity of people (usually young) to just dismiss facts in favour of their own take on things is staggering.

His version of the story is a bit wrong and incomplete; it was a tamping iron that went through Gage's brain, not a spike; he was setting explosives for a roadbed for the rail; the iron entered through Gage's cheek, not his chin, and it went completely through, landing about 80 feet away; he omitted perhaps the best part of the story, how Gage stayed conscious through the accident and declared to the physician who arrived to treat him "Doctor, here's business enough for you!"; the changes that happened to Gage were apparently not permanent and he was able to work as a stagecoach driver later in life. Normally I might be forgiving but Mr. O'Briain, you are supposed to be a man of science and thus of facts.

But its getting more expensive now... blame Trump. China isn't buying it because of his tariffs so farmers are being told to hold back livestock from slaughter to create artificial scarcity in the American market (and thus higher prices) and they are building up the strategic bacon reserves as well. This allows higher prices to help make up for their inability to sell to china. As usual Trump says some foreign government will pay for things and in the end its the taxpayer in America that pays.
@davebox5885 жыл бұрын
I first encountered it in the US in about 2005. It seems to be a way of making tough tasteless (and thus cheap) meat more palatable. In the UK of course we have been historically a lot more carefull about what we let even non-millionaires eat. But of course as with scrap chicken parts pressed into amusing shapes, hamburgers and tasteless fries, some people seem to think it's great to import American shite ideas in order feign coolness. It's now smart to be malnourished. But I suppose we'd better get used to it now that Mrs May has dropped her knickers to get a US trade deal. Bring on the chlorinated chicken, eggs that have to be washed, beef that makes you grow tits and ... I REALLY don't want to think what goes into US milk.

Yes. Its a minefield out there. It's not worth the risk. Whether you stay married or not, you'll end up as a walking ATM. Its almost becoming illegal to even look at a woman, as any "unwanted attention" can land you in some very hot water. As a man, you'll always be assumed guilty until proven innocent. You're only good enough until someone better comes along (monkey branching), at which point she'll dump you harder than King Kong's first poop of the day, and you'll be the one paying the price, literally. The only men getting married nowadays are soyboys and bluepillers.

Many girls say their guy would never appreciate it:) they don't realise how much care it went in to it, or how much it cost

Most of things are either churned out by machines or made using cheap labour from India. And cost? Yeah, we know those things cost wayyyy to much :p As for designer labels. Those are for people with more money than sense.

Weird decision to title the video after the Pulled Pork thing, he talked about pulled pork for like 27 seconds. It was the shortest bit in the whole clip.

pulled pork is really good when done right, but practically everyone manages to fuck it up somehow

Pulled pork is just yesterday's leftover, dried out pork ... shredded, reheated and covered in sauce.

It started when a chef overcooked some pork and tried to pull it off the skillet. The glaze had stuck it to the pan and It came away in shreds. When served it was explained it away as a new dish called pulled pork!

Well plenty of things in this world have been invented as a result of accidents or failed experiments.
