One of my favourite bits of observational comedy :) Starts off well too, with Dara's tasteful "Boodoobeedoo".

Approximately every student sits through the first bit, laughing, knowing they'd probably be able to explain some crazy shit for maybe 5 hours before being burned at the stake as a witch

I’m studying Computer science and I can’t explain everything. Schools don’t explain every single thing about technology. Unless you build computers from the circuit up. Or an electric generator you don’t know either.

@@DanielNyong Almost half of the students around these parts (Melbourne, Australia) seem to have gotten into classes and courses because mummy and daddy have money. And they tend not to learn much because they know that the uni can't or won't fail them for the same reason. To be honest they'd struggle to explain toast itself not to mention how the toaster works.

@@tubewatcher97 Ehh, BBQ sauce varies by region, sometimes even by state. I'm from Texas, we generally avoid vinegar in our BBQ sauces where it's a common base ingredient in some other states.

Someone pushed that on the escalator in M&S in the Arndale Centre in Manchester when I was 6, many, many, many moons ago. We were halfway down and fell the rest of the way, causing cuts and bruising, so not a good idea!

You bring a toaster to Michaelangelo. It won't heat up with out electricity. The knob on the front is a ⏲️. So it would pop out bread. No change. The toaster would be impressive in it's own right. The quality of the product is impressive.

I feel like I could explain it to a point. Like a refrigerator works by taking heat out of the area inside. It keeps going by taking power from a network stretching across a grid spanning a large area. They then ask where does the power come from? Well it comes from many sources. One of which is you take a magnetic field and then you spin an iron core inside of the field and it generates energy that can then be harvested for several purposes.
@Merthalophor4 жыл бұрын
yes, the fundamental principle of a fridge is also not too hard to understand or explain. You would never be able to build one, but the idea of compressing and depressing air would already motivate research into gasses.
@pinstripe42544 жыл бұрын
@@Merthalophor Exactly we could push research forward by giving them an idea of what’s possible.
@johnbeauvais31593 жыл бұрын
@@pinstripe4254 The way I see it is if I could give them enough of a basis to get going in the right direction that would be enough. Like if you could explain gas law to them and the basics of Bernoulli’s principles to Da Vinci imagine how much father along we would be.
