The way of the Prophet pbuh and the sahaba are enough for us. We don't need good or bad innovations 💥

Respected sheigh shukran for the efforts to prepare and run these courses. I personally still want to know about forgiveness being granted by a picture of a living person today as hearing that felt a bit strange to me honoustly. I hope in the future this will be covered as i will be following every second week Inshallah to hear the basis for that perspective. I have been assured by many that this will be expounded upon in this course Inshallah

Question to the Sh: When some of the Sahabah wanted to increase in deeds like tahajjud every single night, fasting every single day and abstain from marrying; the Prophet (SAW) prohibited them and said : By Allah; I am the most fearful (of Allah) and the most conscious of Allah than anyone else but I fast and I break my fast and I pray and I take rest and I marry, whomsoever then desires other than my way he is not from me. How is it then that you initiate action that the Prophet didn’t do? If the Sh could please clarify

This hadith points to excess in ibadah to a point where it violates the rights of yourself and those who have rights over you. This is not about bidah per se as tahajjud and fasting are known sunnahs

Is there clear evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah supporting the classification of innovation (bid’ah) into “good” and “bad”?
@M.S-mv9dy5 күн бұрын
Ibn al-Jawzi (d. 597 AH) said in Talbis Iblis, “There have been innovations that did not collide with the Shariah, and did not contravene on it, so they [i.e. the scholars] did not see any problem with doing them. It has been narrated that people used to pray in isolated groups in Ramadan. A man would pray, and people would pray behind him in a congregation. So Umar ibn Al-Khattab formally gathered them together behind Ubayy ibn Ka’ab RAD. When he came out and saw this, he said, ‘this is a good bid’ah’ because this is a congregational prayer that is legislated by the Shariah

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every innovation is a misguidance." Yet you say, as the scholars have stated, that innovations are categorized (into different types). Why do we leave the words of the Prophet and take the words of the scholars instead?! Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is as if stones will soon rain down upon you from the sky! I say to you: The Messenger of Allah said, and you respond by saying: Abu Bakr and Umar said?!"

So many a time we hear and you hear the narrations about good character and having good thoughts of your fellow Muslims but still instead of the words of the Nabi Pbuh we instead quote Sh BinBaaz and Ibn Uthayneen and Ibn Taymiya. We can't point fingers at people who do the same thing as us. That's called double standards, akhni.

Shaykh literally spoke about the word "Kul", i.e. "every" misguidance.. if you listened you would appreciate it, besides that the corpus of other Hadith contextualising what is meant in the Hadith and added to that ibn Hajar and Imam Nawawis statements with regards to what is meant etc. etc. At the end of the day when you interpret ahadith, it's done through a lens, you can do it through a lens of the great a'imah of this ummah or you can do it through another lens. It needs to be however proven that the scholars through which we view ahadith is qualified to the degree of Imam Nawawi or Ibn hajar or the like, and if you do find such scholars. It still needs to be respected as a difference of opinion.

If I had to choose between your understanding of the hadith. And Imam Shafis understanding of the hadith. Then I'll rather go with imam Shafis understanding.

5.03 - Al-Mar’i al-Karmi (d. 1033 AH) said in Tahqiqul-Burhan, “‘Every bid’ah is misguidance’: this is not speech that is meant to be taken at face value, rather the scholars understood its meaning with restriction. [Izzul-Din] Ibn Abdis-Salam said, ‘[Bid’ah] is categorized into wajib, haram, mandub, makruh and mubah.’ “
