Wow, you are really getting into this stuff! I like it.

Thanks, now I know I'm not going to be able to get away with a 3K watt inverter for my table saw that runs at around 800-1,000 watts. I also have an air compressor I want to run that draws about 1,500 watts but the high starting surge might surpass 10,000 watts on start up.

Linn, how do I connect the auto start feature to the pull rope on my generator?

Wow cool video. Solar stuff and wood working. My life haha. During my learning I found( I think) that a saw could back feed power and cause a surge safety issue?? Do you know anything about this?

Really interesting devices, Linn! 😃 Now I just can't... I'm building 3 little houses at the same time, so no money left. But as soon as it's finished, I'm going to put solar panels here at home. So I'm going to have to play with that stuff as well! 😃 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I purchased one of these units second hand and it's missing the temperature sensor, the power lug covers and the remote. Any idea where I can purchase those items online?

Very useful test. As somebody who works out of his van running machines, I’ve wondered about these things. I have a 3000W pure sine wave inverter with two deep cycle batteries. I’m actually looking to upgrade my batteries soon and was curious about your thoughts on the Battle Born lithium batteries vs these ones or any others you have used. Also what do you think about the Victron inverter/charger system? Thanks :)

Used EV batteries are the best deal, but you have to wire up a new BMS since the original BMS is proprietary.

I have a Sawstop 3hp PCS. How do I run it completely off the grid? Which generator?

Since I'm 100% OK waiting some few hours to run my shop machines if the power is out (which is extreeemely seldom here in Norway), my way cheaper solution is to do my computer work on a continuously connected laptop where I set the battery charge level to 85% (to protect the battery).

Using it as a computer/server UPS seems unlikely or at least niche since companies like APC and Eaton both provide a wide selection of UPSs that work right out of the box. The APC Symmetra LX for example offers all the same features as the the inverter you showed with higher efficiency and a minimum of configuration work by the end user. The main use-case I see for LF inverters like this one are exactly what you showed. Being able to start and run large inductive loads which HF inverters can have difficulty handling.

This is an awesome inverter but this inverter is not made by SunGoldPower. SunGoldPower does not manufacture any its inverter offerings. SunGoldPower is simply a system reseller that rebrands the products that they offer. SunGoldPower inverters are manufactured by Sigineer Power. Sigineer Power manufacturers inverters for several renewable energy companies including SunGoldPower and Aims.
