Darche Air-Volution AD1100 Swag Setup, Features & Review

In this video Luke from Tentworld Toowoomba takes us through why he recommends the Darche Air-Volution AD-1100 Swag.
The Darche AD1100 is an air swag, that comes with a quality carry bag.
To setup the Air Volution swag you must first unroll it. We always recommend then pegging it down to prevent it being blown away.
Then connect the pump to the air tubes.After approximately 10 seconds of pumping you can then remove the pump from the tubes, and put the cover on.

To pack down the Darch AD1100 swag, simply open the valve - release the air. Fold the swag into itself to help keep your roll tidy. Using your body weight, then roll the swag.

Interesting swag! But does the 110 cm version really fit properly on the XL100 stretcher? Greetings

Thanks! It does fit quite nicely because the poles on the air swags are thick, and due to it being a stretcher - and the slight rounding you get in the stretcher material - you do tend to end up laying exactly in the middle. It's been a very popular combo.

Is it possible to use a smaller electric pump? I love it but my concern is lugging around a big pump like that

I wouldnt be too worried about it, if it was me I'd roll the pump into the swag. As a precaution, I would wrap the pumps sharp edges in a towel just to protect the swag. That way you also know the pumps always with the swag so you can throw it into the car, and you have everything. However, if you do want to consider an electric pump you can - you do need one designed specifically for air tents though. Zempire make one called the Zempire SuperCell Pump www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/zempire-supercell-pump it's 12v and will pump it very quickly - but you'll have to have 12v nearby.

@@tentworld I also had a similar opinion as to why it's such a large pump considering it doesn't need that much air. So I just got back from Darche showroom and manager advised the pump should always be rolled in the middle of swag to also protect the pump as some people have put inside bag to the side and thrown on roof and then thrown onto ground etc and therefore have damaged the pump.

Which would you prefer? this or the RS1-s

That's a tough decision ! The Airvolution has the thicker mattress and can be used more easily on the ground than the RS1. The RS1 is nicest on a stretcher because of its design and how you need to get into it. The mattress is also pretty thin on the RS1 so the stretcher makes is helpful for making it more comfortable. I also like the awning on the RS1 but only when it's on stretcher. If you're going without stretcher I think Airvolution is clear winner. If you're going stretcher and under awning usually then Airvolution. If you don't want to go under awning but with stretcher RS1.

@@KaizenOz Hi DieRunning, no worries, it was a tough question to answer that one. It really did get me thinking. I dont think you'd be too unhappy either way but I do like that big awning on the RS1 myself - but its only nice when its on a stretcher - its fairly annoying otherwise. I do love this air swag though, so much better than regular dome swags with poles. But RS1 also solves that prob too. KEen to hear how you enjoy which ever swag you choose!

Great swag but the pump fails, I know a few guys with these they love the swag but the pumps failed after 6-12 months, then the swag is useless until you can get another pump

That's annoying about the pumps Zane, we havent seen that kind of return rate - but definitely it'd be hard to set it up without the pump. Fortunately, any air tent pump will work... So they're not too hard to get, and are more and more available to borrow when camping too. Unlike, a broken swag pole....

Correct nice and hard when set up then floppy come night when cool. Sides flopping in on you. Thats the problem with air, should have a psi sensor (Auto pump).

Wow another great idea where one finds himself on the ground from a deflated air mattress. Except in this case one finds himself with a deflated tent on top of him self! Nice in theory, but a problem waiting to happen!

I understand your concern similar thoughts went through my mind at first. However unless you're also worried about finding your car tyres deflated each morning I would say it's not a worry. The system this swag and air tents use is more similar to car tyres than an air bed.

@@spyke123able 2 year warranty on this swag. The quality of the air tubes is also reflected in the price - no air tent/swag is very cheap. This is because of the pole cost. For me, my next swag will be an air swag. In my opinion the pole system is more reliable than most regular pole systems in swags. Also more forgiving. For example you can have something fall onto an air swag - for instance someone falling onto it. The poles will lay over until the weight has gone when it'll pop back up. Not the case with regular swag poles they'll be broken for sure and require repair or replacement.
