Not in any way disparaging her, but I do feel she is probably on the spectrum. Her story sounds familiar (as in i picked up ventriloquism at the same age for the same reason even) and she displays the kind of skill level at such a young age she almost has to be neiroduvergent

@@ConstantChaos1I don’t think so. She has a great understanding of people as evidenced through her humor, even when she’s on the spot like in the beginning. Most (not all, but most) autistic people don’t “get” a lot of neurotypical humor. Plenty of people are just introverts or have anxiety. There isn’t enough background in this video to really say either way.

To those not aware... For a ventriloquist, the "B" and "P" sounds are the most difficult say well without any lip movement. Darci says those sounds flawlessly

​@StaticBlaster actually thats a lot easier to do. with letters like 'd' and 't', its all about tongue placement while you talk. for 'b' and 'p' you need your lips to actually touch to make the sound, which defeats the purpose of ventriloquism for the most part

Prodigies are oftentimes shy and insecure. Petunia is a psychological anchor and an alter ego who allows Darci to express herself without exposing her-own-self. She is talented for sure, but you can also detect how ruthlessly rigorous she was in training herself: just watch those few seconds when she is overwhelmed with emotions and just two heartbeats from collapsing on the stage, and yet she forces herself to keep her composure, repositions Petunia on the pedestal, and even makes Petunia move and say a few more words, just to keep the illusion alive, even if she has already secured her qualification for the final show. That is typical of many good ventriloquists: an admixture of OCD, bipolarism, self-discipline, and unlimited passion for what they do... plus an incredible amount of talent. All of that would be exceptional at any age, but at 12? Jeez...
