Fantastic video and awesome riding skills. Not sure who's behind the helemt. May be Chris Birch? Looks like it from the helmet view but not from the body. Adam Reiman? Not sure if he does big bikes for KTM seen him on mid size ADV's. Chris Northover? Hmmm never seen him on offial KTM channel though. These 3 were the primary reason I traded my 2018 Ducati 1260 Mulitstrada & R1250 HP Sport BMW GS to got the 2022 1290 SAR. Freaking beast. Been riding all my life. This is my first KTM. The bike handles like a wonder both on and off road. Purchased it Brand new from MMS Roswell, GA, USA. I want to love this bike as much I want to but here is where the problem starts. The man/myth/legend Chris Birch was here in GA Sep 2022. During the ride Chris the front rim cracked and bent. He helped me put a tube in and complete the ride ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ-bYaavZcxjmqc ). BTW the poor rim quality issue is clearly documented online by many owners. Adam Reiman has shown in his video as well (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXrToIGKqtmLlbc ). Watch from the 3 min 10 sec mark and then 3 min 40 sec of how they fix it. MMS Roswell filed a warranty claim with KTM as the rim craked inside not just bent. KTM declined the claim. After a month of downtime due to availability, I get the front rim using KTM Part number provided by the dealer, it turns out that the rim can't support tubeless tires. Because of lack of availablity of both the OE rims and the KTM power parts heavy duty rims (Back ordered till Feb 2023) I decided to put the new tubed rim. Take it out on the trail the engine shutsdown randomly looks like a total power loss (Electronic failure may be). But wakes up after 5 mins as if nothing happened. Did not make much of it. A few weeks later after the mental agony of getting expensive big adv bike contemplating about keeping it or selling it decided to keep it based on how it feels when I ride especially on tight trails. Ordered the Heavy duty OE rims (Finally in stock with a CA dealer, KTM Twins). Took it out on really tight trail it was a joy to ride. Complete the trail get back on pavement the bike had a total powerloss again on the HWY doing 80 MPH, was scary. This time the dash had every single light lit up and circle through (MTS, Cruisie, check engine light, you name it). Park it for 10 mins starts back up again. Start riding again does it again. This time decided to park it and trailer/tow it back to the dealer. It's at MMS Roswell now to figure out what the hell is happening. Really have a love/hate relationship with this bike. I wish KTM would really do me right, if anyone is reading it, you all hear me???? These types of issues should not happen on a expensive bike. arrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

lol... my 2022 1290 SAR is on its 3rd back tyre and just hit 5k.... its a beast and yes you need to factor in frequent tyre changes if you ride like this... Amazing machine and will take you anywhere in the world.. Love it!!!

can I ask you something please.. I'm from Morocco, and people here turned crazy about the BMW 1250 GSA, they are all bought after the apparition of the new 1300 that no1 want here, it can't be found anywhere, and used cost now the price of a new one!! So I turned to KTM, and we have here a promotion for the 2022 model that gives every options/futures possible in the bike for the price of the entry level, when the new 2023/2024 is more expansive. is there any difference between the two please except the decal? (I personally preferer the full blue decal in the old one), or there is something important that deserves to add the difference and take the new one? Thanks in advance...

From what I can see both models mechanically are very similar. As per most updates they have changed some lengths and angles to justify a new model.. both are fire breathing monsters out on the trail in the right hands. The new BMW looks great and we will see how it stacks up in the next few years.. So the answer to your question is that the 2022 SAR is an amazing bike:: I have ridden long distance across Australia in comfort and then onto dirt trails and had a blast.. like I use to on my KTM 500 exc ..

The promotion we have in Morocco talk about the 2022 from KTM dealer, and we have the 2023 (not the 2024), it's on KTM . ma the difference is just 2k dollars for the 2023 but without the KTM Tech pack (five options: quickshifter+, adaptive brake light, rally mode, HHC, and MSR) I don't have a problem to add money for the newest one (2023) and pay for the pack if it's really a different bike with notable changes as you said

I have enjoyed my 1290 SAR, but the factory lower crash bar design on this model is terrible compared to previous models and they will shift or deform even with low speed drops on soft material (the bars on previous 1090/1190/1290 models were rock solid).

@@stargazerhu Honestly I would not have been disappointed if they just removed them. Finding out the hard way with a big repair bill was not pleasant. The crash bar itself actually did all the damage when it slipped down, buckled, and pressed into the bike.

The SW Motech bars have a slightly different design and are known to be compatible with the Black Dog plate so hopefully that combo will be capable of protecting the bike for your typical low speed drops that are common with adventure riding.

KTM1290 Super Adventure S KTM bicycle manufacturing company... a leading company with a global reputation... I suggest adding another radar that prevents cars from suddenly colliding with the bike from behind... and the bike automatically increases its speed to avoid a sudden collision with the bike from behind... Can the company develop a radar with these specifications? ...I hope so.. Thank you.. I am your biggest fan.. Illustration of the radar or sensors to protect the bike and increase safety from the rear. If a dangerous approach approaches, it may cause the bike to be hit by cars without the bike driver noticing. Is it possible to do that? I hope so.

FYI: TURN YOUR TRACTION CONTROL OFF. If you don't, you're going to dump your bike. Only thing a HATE about mine. If it's on and the rear tire spins, it shuts the throttle off and down you go if it's slow turn. Mine's a 2019 so maybe they changed it. The default if on so you have to turn it off every time you start the bike. I've dumped it once because of it, but came close a few times and it's UNBELIEVABLY HEAVY.
