15:38 So this one has the same error as the previous edition: Matt kicking the doberman in The Man Without Fear was originally a page turn - Miller specialised in those, especially with the great internal monologue thete - yet here it's on the right page, deflating the surprise. The whole issue 3 is moved a page for some reason. I know this is a small thing but reading it back in the day it was one of the first times when I noticed the comic book artists really taking advantage of the medium they worked in.

It looks nice and the book's mapping sounds easy to follow. My only complaint is that the logo work on the dustjacket design isn't similar to the main Miller omnibus. Like Marvel for some reason doesn't give the Daredevil omnis consistent spines (look at the new printings of Mark Waid omnis for instance).

After finishing the Miller and Janson Omnibus for the first time, I instantly pre-ordered this Omnibus Companion (alongside with Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale: Daredevil Gallery Edition). Can't wait to read it!

Still in my first year of collecting Omnis, and Daredevil wasn't a character that originally appealed to me but did grab Miller's first DD omni last week in preparation to pair with this. Hopefully the run _opens my eyes_ to DD as a character. Today I picked up Cates' Venom Omni, Moon Knight by Lemire & The Last Ronin Early Years.

@@litewait633 Oh I'm already past that warning 😂 over £3-4k spent on 40+ Omnibus and a few Epics & TPBs that seemed essential 🙈 Also, never realised I was a Marvel fanboy until looking at my collection grow, which is all Marvel or Batman. Also constantly discovering new characters that I want to read more on, in the past couple of weeks Moon Knight, Bullseye, Venom (Mac Gargan), Sentry and a few others all caught my attention with wanting to read more with them. Maybes one day, my attention will do similar with DC characters.

It's really stupid tbh. Sometimes (often times) it feels like Marvel doesn't get it's target audience at all. Yes, sure - the contents are what REALLY matters, but a lot of people who collect these omnis also care about the "shelf appeal" of their collection when they're not reading it and putting matching spines for the main omni and companion is such an easy thing to not screw up, especially considering that they do it with the first printing.

I've been waiting for this for ages and cannot wait to get my hands on it! Also maybe underrated isn't quite right, but John Romita Jr may be a little underappreciated I think! He's drawn so many phenomenal runs and comics that I love (including his '90s X-Men run, where I was first introduced to him) but 'The Man Without Fear' may be his best work. It's way up there at least. My favourite artist of all time.

The Man Without Fear issues were my first Daredevil comics and it's one of the greatest stories I've ever read. I missed out on the original printing so this is a must buy for me. I'll be getting the standard edition as I like the simple red and black look of that cover.

You’ve done stuff for me personally as well as providing a great community and made shopping for omnis or collected editions so much easier. You do all the work for us and I am forever grateful. I know Omar isn’t the biggest fan of the end of Born Again but it’s my favorite story maybe of all time. This might sound blasphemous but it’s my favorite Frank miller stories as well

@@EffigeeWhizLooking at this review and the one of the newest printing of the main Miller Omni the font on the spine doesn’t match. If you wanted to go a little further the back of this printing (to its credit) has the cover collection on the back which the previous printing didn’t however the newest Miller printing stuck with the non cover collection back of the previous printing. I think the first printings which Omar has did have traditional DM jackets the black spine and covers on back.(?) It’s basically a very odd mishmash of haves and have nots between the two of them design wise despite being advertised as a two-piece.

Just to also add the newest Miller printing doesn’t have the black and red cover as either cover opting for a Jansen piece for the standard cover, whereas the companion kept the red and black for the standard cover. Both books do bring back the classic DMs of the original prints (?), though I believe they’ve tweaked the font on this DM cover to go with the slanted look of the rest of the book rather than sticking with the traditional Dardevil font from the original issue.
