You had Gao and Sowande who were easily the most powerful of the five fiingers due to their respective masteries over chi manipulation and pressure point attacks but the other three never displayed matching feats, they just fought well.

All it sometimes takes to win a fight is a well placed punch. Combine that with the strength she was given and it's a no brainer to see that she was a problem for the combined might of the Defenders.

@@bryanrogers5648 That doesn’t apply to a guy who can tank a rocket missile. Maybe Jessica yes since her durability barely seems above normal human level and she’s often hurt by regular people. As for striking and lifting strength, it is less clear. But Luke Cage tossed a 400 lb tire some 50 yards away while Jessica tossed an adult male body hundreds of feet into the ocean. I haven’t seen Cap consistently do stuff like that, but he has that one outlier feat of lifting a massive steel beam off of Bucky which is above anything Luke and Jessica have done. It’s tough to say because they are all inconsistent.

But the timeline of the MCU has him still operating somewhere around like 2025-2026.

Jess’ fighting skills are also very unconventional. I think people really underestimate her just because she doesn’t know martial arts. If you watch her fight against Luke Cage she really demonstrates good street style technique. She’s also calculating and quick thinking thanks to her detective skills, which I think shows when she out smarts Gao.

My memory is not as sharp for Iron Fist season 2, but up until this point the only people who were shown to be superior in h2h combat to Danny was Matt and Elektra, and we never got to see Matt's fight actually play out with Danny, but it would have most likely gone the same way as it did here with Elektra considering Matt was able to hold his own against her while holding back the entire time.

Then don't you think that for an operation that is imperative to them maintaining their eternal life, they should have brought along a bigger force? You would think being alive for thousands of years would have taught them not to leave anything as sensitive as maintaining their immortality to chance, but no, all they bring along is a bunch of goons with guns. It is laughable to assume they were unaware of the abilities of Jessica and Luke, considering how high profile their cases had been. And they send what against Luke? Guns. With lead bullets, not even the Chitauri metal ones. Heck, had I been their leader, I would have pulled all the strings to frame up the Defenders and send in the National Guard or something against them. Hydra came to power (according to the movies) some six decades ago and they had a better control of the US government.

The Hand don't try and run governments. All they care about is living forever so they can return to Kun Lun. Alexandra used the rest of the substance without the other fingers' permission, and she reveals that to them during the season. This is why they're so unprepared in the Defenders show, they thought they still had immortality.

I don't know man, the entire point in the show for the Hand was that they hand their fingers in everything. Total global influence but also secrecy, the fact that they had talked about their army's for a lot of the show but when revealed about not having immortality anymore you think they would have just played it safe and stay inside their hideout until their army arrives instead of them risking their lives without the stuff anymore and fighting the Defenders on their own.

Ugh did you see the scene in The Defenders where Daredevil kicks Danny's ass? Daredevil landed so many more hits and was enjoying it walking him back, if you put Danny 2nd because of his "Power level" the fist doesn't count in terms of skill. Top 5 should go: 5. Winter Soldier 4. Captain America 3. Iron Fist 2. Elektra 1. Daredevil I also left out Black Panther for now since we haven't really seen much from him in terms of skill, not saying he won't be number 1 but for now that spot goes to Daredevil having more show of proof until BP's solo movie comes out. Also seeing that Bucky could handle T'chala pretty well.

The defenders would stomp Donnie hard, daredevil is more agile he could dodge and smack him back for Luke to throw him across the room then Jessica would do the same then daredevil punches him hard, now then Danny would use his chi for a finish and how the f is it possible for him to even beat the avengers with powerful characters like captain America, winter soldier and black panther, nah not a chance no offense but those guys are too much power, winter soldier would easily strangle him since he's human and isn't superhuman, cap would do the same to him like he did to batroc when cap loses it then tackles him through a door and knock him hard limp with one hard punch, and t'challa could use his speed and skill that are enhanced by the heart shaped herb and easily knock him down then like what he could've done to bucky, he could've slashed him slashed hard dead already so yea. To be honest Donnie yen from his own films have done impressive feats taking on extremely skilled martial artists easily beating almost every single one of them and many more he faces which he'll easily beat because of his skill and training but none of them are even ever near the super soldiers level, donnie is good at fighting like extremely impressive but if he gets too cocky and tries to fight someone luke cap, Bucky and t'challa, then they'll all easily obliterate. I'm not dumb cuz I saw their feats, even shang chi can't take them either because of their stats but Shang is by far impressive in fighting ever in the MCU but the super soldiers also other powerful superhuman characters including Captain America, Bucky and t'challa, the trio stomp hard

If by she you mean Madame Gao, then yes I think it's possible. Elektra and Matt got out and she has telekinesis to help protect her. They never even touched stuff like The Beast, so the Hand may return in the future. Also, they never showed her death, it seemed too clean.

For fuck's sake... I understand that Daredevil and Iron Fist have to fight their way through complex choreography since they possess no super-strenght. But Jessica and Luke? Just punch all the bad guys and finish the fight already.

It depends if Madam Goa is supposed to be Crane Mother or not. Nobu from Daredevil appeared as a Hand Warrior in an Electra limited series (as Kagenobu Yoshioka) and there was a character called Murakami in the 5 Ronin Series that featured alternative versions of Wolverine, Psylock and Punisher, Hulk and Deadpool. Some of the named hand leaders probably couldn't be used because they were introduced in Wolverine comics and may be considered under the banner of the men licence. Weird they didn't use Kirigi though.

Yes, she can harness her chi similarly to Iron Fist. She's used her powers in DD S1, Iron Fist S1, and now Defenders.

Some cool shit happens in this scene but it’s so poorly shot and edited that it’s confusing as fuck to keep track of everyone. I get that a fight this big which is basically comprised of several smaller fights is difficult to do, but it’s obvious the strength of these showrunners is with 1v1 fights. The movies do a much better job with large ensemble fights

Only thing I care about in this scene is seeing Madam Gao whoop ass & take punches. Fuck Alexandra, she should have been the Hands leader. Way more epic. Her villainy stretches across 3 shows. Plus she gots da force! I don't like the inconsistent fighting tho. How tf Daredevil can't beat Elektra but he can take Nobu master & Bakuto? Bakuto beat the shit out of Danny & Colleen & Daredevil barely beat Nobu. Ain't no way this fight should have been choreographed like this.

In my opinion luke wasnt nerfed just didnt get mad enough i bet if he really got pissed and coulda did some real damage and jessica is way stronger than they lead on and dd can take a beating almost as good as he gives out the one thats really downplayed is iron fist in this series anyhow and electra shoulda been alittle better because of her blood lust thats why she likes the "game" so much just my thoughts though. And in the dd series second or third episode when he goes after that kid that got taken after he was busted up looked like he was fighting drunken monk style but still cleaned out all those guys

I mean they all have super strength and superior technique. He’s a street brawler with impenetrable skin and super strength. He can facetank and lift, but that’s about it. It’s like saying someone who lifts weights stands a chance against an MMA fighter in the same weight class, and lifts the same amount. It’s trained vs. untrained.

#SaveDaredevil Marvel's way of making series and movies may need to be rethought. People watch series for different reasons, story, fight scenes ... it is not up to anyone to decide which reason has the greatest relevance. The series is one of the best adapted, but when you see the actor being replaced by a stuntman all the time in the fights you lose the immersion. Stuntmen obviously must substitute in risky scenes. Many scenes of Elektra the actress does not even appear, it is very noticeable because the stuntwoman has dark skin and is muscular. The actress knows how to fight, it makes no sense to see the fight for the fight and not her performance. These scenes do not have the verisimilitude necessary to maintain the "pact" with the viewer.

One of things I hated about the series is how cheap the production looked. You could see the plastic walls and low-budget CG used. Ike Perlmutter needs to be fired-- he is hurting the Marvel brand with his cheapness! Just look at all the negativity over the low quality of the Inhumans show.

The CGI was incomplete, not low-budget. There's an elevator scene in episode 8 where the VFX company didn't even get far: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage look like cardboard cutouts. It really needs to be polished before disc and digital release.
