The famous Hallway scene maybe the best scene ever in anything Marvel related. And Charlie Cox does most of the fighting, but usually the stuntdouble is the one that gets thrown around or when he falls on his back and stuff.

Season 3 episode 4 prison escape is even better in my opinion. Literally a 10 minute one shot of fighting, acting and insane stunts

You are correct regarding some of the hallway scene. From what I understand whenever Matt fell into a room that was when they would switch Charlie with his stunt double. And in case you are skeptical, it was actually one continuous shot. A lot of people think the scene has hidden cuts, but in actuality they had tracks on the roof which is what allowed them to navigate the camera so well. Daredevil, more than any other Marvel project, has an unparalleled level of art, craftsmanship, and dedication put into it, and it shows in every scene.

Charlie made a point in each season of doing more of the stunts, at least the ones he's capable of doing. The acrobatics he leaves to Chris, of course, but Charlie made it a point of pride to get better and better and more proficient every season. I'm curious to see if Marvel hires Chris Brewster to do the stunts for the Disney+ show since he works so well with Charlie.

The other shows all have good and great stuff (not so much IFs1) but DD is goddamn beautiful through and through. The dialogue, cinematography and fight scenes are all fantastic.

Most of Daredevil's fighting/stuntwork is done by Charlie Cox in general, but the more acrobatic stuff he physically can't do

They also use the same stunt double as captain america which as a fan both both makes me incredibly happy. Winter soldier Daredevil Agents of shield are peak mcu

Also my favorite thing about this episode is that it shows Matt's pure conviction. When he fights he's actually gets hit and tired, his endurance is based on his Faith and Conviction. He wins most of his battles not on physicality but on his willpower alone.

18:48 I think thats because most guys playing superheroes get ripped for asthetic purposes, Charlie Cox for Daredevil got ripped for competition, like how actual fighters do. Compare him to, say, a Muay Thai fighter and you'll see it. Daredevil throughout his history has always been portrayed as more athletically built than his more bulky counterparts, kinda like Spiderman.

Matt's a little more than tired in the Hallway scene. He has just left Claire who is a nurse. Her prognosis was 2-3 broken ribs, punctured lung and possible concussion. So he is that AND tired.

Tthe last 5 mins of this episode is what REALLY hooked me into the series as a whole. His motivation to save that kid. He quickly became one of my favorite MARVEL characters.

Yes you are right, when he goes into a room and then he comes back into the screen there's a switch with the stunt double, so Charlie did like half of it, it's so brilliant.

This show really was something else man…Daredevil and Jessica Jones quickly earned spots on my personal top 10 favorite marvel heroes completely based on their respective Netflix shows

Claire is supposed to be comic character, she patches up superheroes on the low mainly the street level kind like DD & Spidey. She got the code name The Night Nurse

His stunt double Chris Brewster is amazing. He didn’t want CGI. He did most of the hallways scene and when he goes into the room after beating the last guy at 20:20 , that’s when Charlie Cox switched back on to carry the child

I was waiting for the reaction to this episode. I'm happy you guys get to got to meet Claire and learn more about Matt and his relationship with his father. Fun Fact: The Red and Yellow on Jack Murdock's Boxing Robe is an homage to Daredevil's original Marvel Comics Suit when Daredevil Debuted in 1964, which was made from his Boxing Robe.

I know you're still really early into the season, but it's worth mentioning that this season is followed by different seasons of different shows that all take place somewhere between around 2015 (Avengers Age of Ultron) and 2018 (Avengers Infinity War). The order is -Daredevil season 1 -Jessica Jones season 1 -Daredevil season 2 -Luke Cage season 1 -Iron Fist season 1 -Defenders -The Punisher season 1 -Jessics Jones season 2 -Luke Cage season 2 -Iron Fist season 2 -Daredevil season 3 -The Punisher season 2 -Jessica Jones season 3 Everything after Defenders is a lot more "optional" and disconnected, so don't feel as pressured to watch em if you don't want to ALSO I REALLY LOVE THESE REACTIONS OMG

Hey, Meg and Caleb! The fight scenes in this series are inspired by the South Korean film "Oldboy" by Park Chanwook and the Indonesian film "The Raid" by Gareth Evans. Both are world famous for their extended tracking shots, complex moving parts and brutality. Rosario Dawson is the connective tissue between the four main shows. She is the NIGHT NURSE who, in the comics, is a lover to Doctor Strange. The supporting players on each show crossover to the other Netflix shows creating an interconnected universe. The crossover characters from "Daredevil" include Claire Temple, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Mitch Ellison the editor, Madame Gao, Turk Barrett the criminal and Officer Brett Mahoney. Carl Creel, who Battlin' Jack Murdock refused to take a dive against in the ring, becomes the Absorbing Man in the comics. The Absorbing Man appears on "Agents of SHIELD".

The emotional catharsis after a singular episode is amazing. The character work done here is expertly done by stitching the flashbacks to his present self. I would love you to do your book talks for Daredevil he is essentially the most consistently well written character in all of comics since frank millers stuff in the 80s

Matt's dad beating Creel in his last boxing match is truly incredible - Crusher Creel is a superhuman who can become as hard as anything he touches. In the comics he'd make his fists as hard as his metal locker before boxing matches.

@@notthecoolwhip No; he can control what he's absorbing. Agents of Shield had a version of him that was pretty comics accurate, changing only parts of his body, recalling things he's recently touched, etc.

@@JBWinter Well, I’ve never seen him having powers when he fights Jack because it would be impossible to someone that fights Hulk, She Hulk, etc, to loose to a normal human. He gets his powers when he is in prison for aggravated assault and extortion, then Loki gave him an enchanted potion because he wanted to make him powerful in hopes for him to defeat Thor.

He may not look incredible big in muscle compared to other actors but don’t sleep on Daredevil, Matt trained his body to peak human condition and he has done crazy stuff. Like he dodges bullets every night, he has dodge Electro lighting and can keep up with Spider-Man in agility (Peter has been surprised multiple times by Matt) that being said this series is more grounded and inconsistent with how capable the characters are but there’s some scenes that shows that they’re still peak human, in the season finale there’s a scene with Matt that shows how strong he is. And in this scene let’s not forget that he didn’t recover from his injuries, he had broken rips, stabs and he still wiped the floor with them.

If you watch the hallway scene again, you'll see the hidden cuts. When the camera points to a blank wall or someone's back blocks it, they cut the camera and set up the next take. The camera is on a track on the ceiling so it goes right over the door. The stunt performers are doing a very job at hiding their faces, so that when they "fall" into the next room, Charlie Cox is ready to take their place and do a shot where he's reacting to the camera. He is doing some of the stunt work, but none of the "fancy" and dangerous moves were him. You can tell because his face isn't fully in view.

speaking of papercuts you guys should definitely at some point react to Everything Everywhere All At Once at some point, if you've not already seen it. Or watch it on your own but selfishly I'd prefer the reaction. I feel like it'll definitely be right up your alley. I remember watching this season the night it came out and this episode settled it for me, and I stayed up all night binge watching the entire season because that hallway fight was incredible.
