I loved the tie-in rant because I remember reading the main run of "Civil War" as well as the Fantastic Four tie-in and wondering why the heck the Invisible Woman made this insanely dramatic show of defecting to Captain America's anti-registration side by blowing a massive hole through Fantastic Four headquarters, when in the main run, she just writes her husband a letter and leaves via a taxi....a taxi!!

About the events bit, it's one of the reasons why I love Daredevil the vast majority of the time. While everyone else is being sucked into Civil War 2, apart from being in the latest issue for a bit, Daredevil is totally isolated from it. Very few events leak into Daredevil's pages

I dont mind tie in's as long as they add more to the story, find out what wolverine or fantastic four are up to during the events of civil war. makes it feel like a big event that effectas the whole universe what i HATE is when i NEED to read tie ins in order to understand the main story. also I hate when editorial makes creative teams stop the stories that they had planned in order to fit into an events. I.e Batman tie ins to death of the family. if you're just reading nightwing alone. the tie in seemed random and out of place

Feel like they should develop a better writing system for tie ins maybe the writer of the main event write the tie ins themselves and have it be completely disconnected from whatever is going on in that characters main book . or involve writers more and maybe only pick characters for tie ins that current writers of those characters would be willing to do to create a more cohesive story for the tie in . I like the idea of tie ins because it’s like putting together a puzzle and seeing the whole picture .

I still think the premise of DD leading the hand was a top-notch idea. It's just unfortunate the new writer couldn't deliver a satisfying way of telling it. Had Brubaker or Bendis written this - this story would've turned out so differently, but I know amazing!

Tie-ins can be good. Like Flashpoint and Futures End, where almost nothing happened in them that was vital to the main story, but it explored the setting of the event.Or Convergence, where the tie-ins were the only thing that had any progress or quality.And then there's Darkseid War where stuff that should have been important happened, but it wasn't because nothing happened until the last five pages.

Ian McKee Swamp Thing, Red Lanterns, Sinestro, Grayson, Batgirl, and Justice League, Detective Comics. Earth 2 had an interesting scenario, but I'm hesitant to call anything between Robinson and Abnett "good".

Xer0sama Of those that I read, Sinestro is the best. Justice League was part of like a two part story i believe, and that was just bland "what if things went bad" and I could not muster the energy to care. BatGirl, Grayson and Earth 2 were all just horrible, to me at least. The Tie ins were just bad ideas that were sounding boards for DCU, and that went so bad they had to backpedal right back to the old universe.

Sal's rant on event tie-ins is so on point. Thank god for Infinity. When that book came out in trade it collected the main issues and the tie-in issues from Avengers and New Avengers (Of course, the reason could be that all of those issues were written by Hickman). They could have easily have the trade only collect Infinity #1-6 but I think in order to get the full story, those tie-ins needed to be there.
