i got so emotional watching this. wanted to join SMU for the longest time because seniors always tell NUS only know how to study. but now i feel like i've changed my mind. thank you dargo :")

isnt it actually the opposite (i went to NUS)? everyone i know from SMU says its just studying and NUS is just so chill lol
@eternalarizon3 жыл бұрын
@@shucklesors i think it depends on the courses. Engineering, science, math courses tend to have heavier load compare to others

Really enjoyed the video hahah, a Y4 NUS ME student here. Have to agree that life here is shag and all of my friends and I trashtalk about our course/faculty quite a lot but no regrets man, it was fun and perhaps meant to be. Vid is really wholesome and the replies/answers (esp the third group) were really close to heart, keep up the good work!

As an NUS CS Graduate, I can 100% relate to your and the CS dude's experience. I stayed in hall throughout my candidature in NUS and I feel bad for the current campus residents during such trying times because most activities and events have to be cancelled. Wishing yall the best with school life and enjoy as much as you can before you leave for the corporate life (:

Great effort in making this video. There are tremendous changes from studying in high school to studying in a world-renowned university. It leads to lots of stress. The students' thoughts in the interview are very helpful.

Biz snek here, graduated a few years back. What I hated most: certain biz mods are very subjective so you're at the mercy of biased profs. What I loved most: flexibility on choosing mods and many exchange opportunities. Culture wise, defo more vibrant than NTU too.

oh I have a lot of things I hate about NUS. I only went there because my parents forced me to. 1. The bell curve. Diff unis have diff cut off points for each degree and admin system for SU. Having a strict bell curve will unfairly penalise people who have chosen to go to NUS 2. The profs and staff treats people with higher CAP nicer. I had an asshole scholar groupmate who deleted our Dropbox files as an act of sabotage but the staff just swept it below the carpet and give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn’t know how to use Dropbox. I highly doubt that as a 2nd lower, I will be treated as graciously. 3. Most courses I had in NUS are taught badly, where the lecture notes is different from the textbook, tutorial is different from the lecture, and exam is different from tutorial. Currently in the US now and everything is open book, open internet, like heaven. 4. The stuff that NUS teaches is too theoretical, and career services is not as helpful as SMU’s in finding better placements for internships I could go on and on but the above are what I think is more important.
