It is also possible that for the sake of cost they only use it for reinforcement. Similar to how a sword can have a softer steel for it's spine to absorbs shock and a hardened edge.

@@realtime8892 also early on the episode it is explained that Demons have the better technology for working with mythril. So Human blacksmiths can't do much with the material unlike demons. The old geezer that made Dariel weapon did it because Dariel demon friend imbued with his magic the special furnace to make him his weapon. So until Humans find s way of using their aura or another mean to make better tools, Demons have better Technics for mythril forging so my guess is that maybe humans only covered the weapons and shields

@@buhe1 Guild ranks are done by completing quests, not necessarily being the strongest (albeit the higher ranked quests are for more powerful adventurers). That's why Dariel with his full 4 unlocks still had to start off at the lowest rank. A duel isn't a quest through the guild.

That guy was the archetypal "I've been doing this 25-30 years and I know what I'm doing" from someone who has spent their whole lives in a single career doing it wrong but thinks just cause they have decades of experience, they are more qualified than someone actually trained/skilled/competent.
