That is fascinating to see the interior and get a glimpse into how they would have lived day to day.

Right now with the housing crisis a lot of people would love a house like that.

I was greatly pleased to discover this video. My 9th great grandparents were Thomas and Rebecca Cornell, Sr. In 1646 they built on Aquidneck Island (Now Portsmouth) RI, a house that looked almost identical to this one on the outside. (Pictures on the internet attest to this.) Thomas, Sr died in 1655 and Thomas, Jr and his family went to live in the home with his mother. In February of 1673, Rebecca Cornell was found dead in her room near her fireplace. Thomas, Jr was accused, tried, and found guilty of murdering her and in May of that same year he was hanged for the crime. Just seeing the outside of this home pleased me. But to be able to tour the inside and imagine what it might have looked like when my family lived and died there provided a truly amazing experience.

What a beautiful house. Even by today's standards it's still gorgeous. It really fills you with tranquility watching the video. Seems like a calm place to live. It's really lovely.

That place needs a lot of work. I lived in and raised my family in two 250 year old Hudson valley, ny revolutionary war homes and you have to keep up with maintenance meticulously.

To look at and touch beams someone hand cut 330 years ago, fireplaces that cooked thousands of meals, and how many nights someone walked up those stairs with a 🕯️ lighting their way - wish those walls could talk.

And it still has tighter gaps and closures than the D R Horton inspection nightmare that brought me here🤣 I’d tip my buckled hat to the Colonists who built it
