One more question, do i still need coding if i fit a new CCM of the same model number to replace my current faulty unit? How to do the coding and where to find the list of code if i ever need to?

If it needs coding, most people use VCDS which is vw software. You can search the info online, can be bougth and downloaded to a laptop etc. am not sure If the exact same part number would work, I don’t remember if I actually tried that.

Need some advise urgently as the problem causing much inconvenient to my daily used especailly under heavy rain. Thanks and nice to have a video that is on same year Touran and RHD too!! Something about my car is everytime now when i switch OFF the igition, my HU will not OFF and same time as my door remote switch wont work. i have to use key to lock door. When locked, i can still see the HU still playing. It will play for long mins (maybe 15mins or longer) before full shut. Next day i have to manually using key to unlock the door. This has been permantly recently as it was intermitent in the past. As in whenever i turned off ignition, if i ever see HU off means i knew my remote key will work like normal. If HU not off, the remote key will again unable to lock/unlock the door. What are the chances on CCM issue, are these linked? Also about stripping down the storage compartment, do u really need to loosen the panel to way under the gearstick? Because the video is fast motion without audio, i wonder if u have found a good way to release (like pulling off the panel catch) the gearstick side panel in order to reach the inner screw for the storage compartment (1:10 to 1:16) Pls kindly advise. Appreciate your effort in this video.

sorry for late reply , have you change the battery in the remote fob, also you might need to get fault codes as the HU may be faulty.

@@DaringBeefcake coming back..thanks for your adviced. i solved the problem, It was the ignition switch problem. By luck there was once when i turn off ignition very slowly, for only that moment i noticed there's intermitant for the radio to shut down and after my key fully move to OFF(in order to pull out the key) the HU turned ON again. This motioned happened only once but i already marked suspicious on the ignition switch. Lucky me i have a spare used ignition cylinder with switch set which i used to replace 2 years ago due to the clog in the cylinder. The old switch was working good and now i replace the current, everything get back to normal. Bloody hell ya ignition switch... 😄

@@TomTom-se4fr am glad you got it sorted, and well done for finding the problem and sharing it here so other can read in case they have similar issues. I come across so many problems by luck 🍀 in many cars that Sean to develop gremlins 😂 but they always relate to something other than the problem they are causing like in your case no problem with the hdu but rather the ignition, crazy.

Can the comfort module make the windshield wipers to not work? As i have tried everything from switching engines, checked the bonnet switch, and fuses, so this to me seems to be the only option,

You switched the engine ? So you checked and change the wiper stalk too ? As that could be a culprit.

My '05 has been tricky opening with the fob and today the drivers lock stopped responding to the unlock, locks just fine, would this be a CCM fault? if I get a CCM on ebay or such is it a simple swap or is it best to get it installed/coded by some vw garage?

To be hones it is very common for the lock actuator to go faulty, if that is happening to all your doors at the same time then may be the control module would be to blame but in your case it sounds like your door lock actuator it’s playing up and best change it before it stops opening completely. If you fit a ccm it needs to be coded to your car.

@@laurenceclark6082 primary issue seems to be fob gets tired, the drivers door seems to be an issue with the solenoid in the door.
