How did you jack up the car? Having trouble finding where to put the jack on a 2017 forte that looks just like the one in the video

I replace the brake fluid whenever I replace brakes - old fluid gets oxidized and a flush and fill is fairly easy while you have access to the brake cylinders.

I was wondering what the year was on this Forte but I found it in the description. Was wondering though cause I have a 2012 Forte and my front brakes sit towards the back of the wheel well as opposed to how yours are. Good info though nonetheless

Great video ….however I was watching to find a easier way to install the little pins that go in the holes on the brake pads. I do my brake jobs the same exact way but always have a problem with the pins that go in the little holes on the actual brake pads.

only steps did not see you do was the metal clips that go over the brake pads did not see you bleed the brake or open the cap on where you refill brake fluid. maybe its not necessary but always see it done on other brake videos. Sorry if im wrong.
@CapOlimar
@CapOlimar 7 ай бұрын
A lot of the videos I've watched they use a tool to slowly compress the piston, so no need to bleed them. Just pump the pedal until firm after installation.

The first time you push the pedal after changing the brakes the pedal will be squishy then after you pump the brakes a little bit it should firm up.

I saw that the old ones had a tensor pulling the pads to the exterior so that they don't touch the disc when the car is moving, in the new ones you didn't install the tensors, do that affect anything or is perfect like that? Thanks for the clarification!!! Nice video

did you do the rotors too just to show or is it like it is up here where noone will do the pads without the rotors? ive had 8 cars in my entire life and this is the first time ive ever heard of anyone demanding to put on rotors at EVERY brake job even though my car only has 35k miles on it and the rotors look better than the ones i had on my old car that had 256k on it that noone mentioned a thing about the rotors for.
@daringmotors
@daringmotors Жыл бұрын
I did rotors on this car because there was a good brake bundle deal at the time. Normally when replacing brake pads you can have the rotors turned or replaced. For me I am able to warranty brakes if the rotors are replaced and gives a peace of mind that if the old rotors were warped it would be fixed

The pads had small holes for the brake pad spring, but you did not install it back on. Why not, do it not need it? Shouldn't the bracket bolts been cleaned or replaced, they were rusty coming out & rusty going back in...

I couldn't get one of the rotor screws out (it was rusted) my neighbour offered to help and he drilled the head off entirely so... one of my rotors is only held in with one screw. What are my chances of survival 1-10
@daringmotors
@daringmotors 2 жыл бұрын
You will be totally fine! Many cars don’t have that screw to hold on the rotor because the wheel holds it on when it is tightened down
@wigletron2846
@wigletron2846 Жыл бұрын
You don't even need those screws. They're only there to hold the rotor on during the assembly line. Older cars didn't have set screws.
