This 2nd end game was so poetic. Close combat vs close combat, Urshifu vs Urshifu, just as master Mustard would have wanted.

I totally did not expect to see that gmax-urshifu, he basically calculated the amount of damage he was going to take the next 3 turns.
@jewii38243 жыл бұрын
Ya when I was watching I didnt even think about the possibility of gmax urshifu but now in hindsight it's really the safest play
@jewii38243 жыл бұрын
@Professor Thinker it defo was the safest play. Aqua jet into self gmax coalossal is extremely risky, because whoever wins the speed tie basically wins the match. That's a 50% chance. Because the threat is so huge, the opponent is pressured into attacking the coalosal. Gmaxing urshifu definitely lives an attack from the opponent coaloal and would definitely ko coalosal in return.
@kenzofukuda52093 жыл бұрын
He also timed it with grassy terrain running out so the Rillaboom in the back couldn’t keep grassy gliding
@levy95953 жыл бұрын
I thought gmaxing coal into a max guard and surging strikes would have been better at the time. Either knocks out their coalossal or at the very least puts it in aqua jet range so it wont get another attack off regardless. That also allows you to keep your full hp coal alive and set up the rocks the next turn. cant argue with the results tho, especially since if miguel targets urshifu in that situation your boned regardless. But that's probably true regardless of which you gmax, targeting the urshifu is always better there IMO since your coal can always OHKO their coal with max quake/earth power the urshifu was the real threat from that position and wolfey realized it but miguel did not. that is why wolfey won
@federicorusso43683 жыл бұрын
@@jewii3824 wolfey put out the video where he explains his plays, it was his only option because he knew that his coalossal was slower, so it wasn't a speed tie

Damn wolfey with 2000 iq this game
@levy95953 жыл бұрын
god damn wolfey is a genius. Maxing urshifu to ko coalossal then max guarding to cover the last turn of glassy glide priority on grassy terrain. Just unbelievable planning and no wonder he won the pc2

I'm telling you no one expected gmax urshifu while there's a colossal beside it

@Professor Thinker ok professor
@levy95953 жыл бұрын
@Professor Thinker max guarding coalossal and surging strikes into coal would have also won the game. Either finishes off coalossal or puts it in aqua jef range while keeping coal alive instead of stacking it. Miguel had this game in the bag but he mistakenly identified the coal as the threat in that position when the urshifu was actually the threat. If you gmax coal or gmax urshifu wolfey loses if miguel attacks urshifu, but max guarding coal and surging strikes was the safest win condition Wolfe had at that position IMO, but cant argue with the results lol

I wonder what would have happened if Miguel had used Grassy Glide and Earth Power on Wolfe’s Coalossal (because Rillaboom would have priority and Coalossal would have outsped the Dragapult) to either apply as much damage onto the opposing Coalossal before Dragapult went for Surf (and maybe take it out then and there) or take it out without the Surf. That would definitely put a lot of pressure onto Dragapult to finish out the game by itself against two mons.

Team sheet that the guy mentioned is to keep track of your opponent correct? It’s not information on your opponents team given to you by the tournament right?
@Kisarez3 жыл бұрын
Interesting mirror teams, obviously Miguel is a great battler and has come very far, but I wonder about the synergy with Indeedee and Banded Rillaboom having trouble locking in GGlide and Urshifu having trouble Aqua Jetting Coalossal in Psychic Terrain. Miguel has positioned very well and he surely is great, but it feels like this team composition might actually hinder him more than enabling him...?

Miguel lost game 1 when he decided not to double target the dragapult. I just feel it was obvious Wolfey would protect it and then set the screen up given that pult has a sash (if I recall correctly), but still, good games, well played by both sides!
@lOI0IOl9623 жыл бұрын
Pult has safety goggles, Urshifu has sash
@Iamthe2G3 жыл бұрын
@@lOI0IOl962 Oh true, my bad then. But still, I think double targeting it was the play, and I'm sure Miguel later realized it too
@lOI0IOl9623 жыл бұрын
@@Iamthe2G I think it's too risky, rillabooms out on the field and dragapult is immune to close combat and resists surging strikes so he was in no danger and expanding force isn't even in terrain. Follow me ensures grassy glide hits indeedee, if he doubles up Urshifu maybe goes down before it attacks, which he needs to set up coalossal. Also it's game one is usually played more carefully, especially this game 1 where they only played for position until like the last 2 turns which is insane
@Iamthe2G3 жыл бұрын
@@lOI0IOl962 Oh but I ment when Miguel had Rillaboom and Coalossal facing Dragapult and Coalossal just before it had its weakness policy activated (last turns). Grassy Glide + maybe Max ground into the Dragapult for the +1 sp.def rise would have made Miguel both take the Drapault down, and since (at least in my opinion) it was almost clear that Wolfey would protect Coalossal, that was its chance to stop the weakness policy activation. And even if Wolfey did not protect Coalossal, Max ground into pult was the play, since it either protected if it ran protect (which means no weakness policy activating that turn) or used surf, but because of grassy glide and the speed boost from Coalossal, it would have gone down before pulling it off. And then the sp.def boost would have made Coalossal take a potential hit from the opposing (unboosted) one I think
@lOI0IOl9623 жыл бұрын
@@Iamthe2G almost clear is key here yeah, he didn't want to risk it which is understandable after this far in the game because if he calls protect not coming out he loses his coalossal and wolfe's still has max HP with flare coming out on a non assault vest rillaboom for the win. Assuming he called protect correctly then your play guarantees the win, but it's a high pressure situation where both players had a clear path to victory on the same turn and no one wants to lose a game to protect called wrong lol

Why in the tittle you put “Miguel Caballero”? I mean maybe in America to shorten the last’s names you only use the second one, but in spain we usually use the first one.

Also this is the match wolfe said he forgot to record so if anything it was just impossible.
