Wonderful Christmas spirit/scenery in Tbilisi 🎅 Yes, a bit of snow would be perfect ☃❤ Always nice to see you hang out with your friends/fellow KZbinrs. When your paths crosses and your together it just brings so much to the video and the way you enjoy yourselves ☺ The opera/theatre show seemed good and I hope you enjoyed it with Natasha. I guess culture means alot to you and that it also shows a more civilized side of humanity 🥰 In Denmark we celebrate Christmas eve on December 24th. We go to church in the afternoon, eat roast duck, white potatoes, brown potatoes, chips, gravy, red cabbage and other stuff... then we eat risalamande for dessert. Yeah, we are well fed up when we are done 🤭 After that we dance around the Christmas tree and sing songs, then we open our gifts and play games or watch tv for the rest of the evening😊 So Christmas is a big deal for us... and so is New Years eve. New Year is about being with friends and family, eat some good food (Cod is the traditional food) but the food can be anything. Then of course there is usually a lot of alcohol involved that night... we are danes after all ahaha🤣🤣🤣 Very cool Christmas village and cosy atmosphere. Of course you should buy that cup 😁 Ever since I started following yours and Natashas channel I really wanted to go visit Russia. Now it is no longer an option, perhaps forever. 😞But Georgia do seem like a nice alternative🙂 I'm so glad that you are going all these other places, and even if it's not in the way you imagined, I'm pleased that it has brought you some priceless memories and personal development. We were also there during christmas holidays. Stayed opposite to opera house in tiflis opera apart hotel. Really nice stay. Xmas market was really awasome. Only pblm was the gypsies in the street. We got really scared

Tbilisi looks so beautiful at Xmas it really is a hidden gem, that opera singer was really good my grandma loved Swan Lake and her dream was to one day go to Moscow to watch it but she never did 😢

The town was so dreamy. It was like a fairytale. Like most US citizens I worked the holiday. I am a water treatment operator for our town, making safe drinkable water. I hope some day I could travel to Europe for the holidays. I started learning Russian 25 years ago when I had a friend in the Ukraine. And 2 years of German. We had snow and ice. I live in the north east USA. our mountains run north to south allowing our storms to be bad and the Suberian cold blows hear and makes our temperatures freezing. Love your videos. They are an escape for an old guy that just turned 50. As far as the year goes. The good almost always outweighs the bad. The world understands that most all the Russian people have no control over the war. We don't blame you. We have empathy and compassion. Hear is to a great 2023

Opera is sung in Italian because it only has 7 vowel sounds so is more musical than, say, English which has 14 vowel sounds. For example, the letter a, is uh, eh or ai. If you find out the story of the opera, the music is about emotions, love, hate, jealousy, anger, so you don’t need to have the words to get the meanings. Australians also add a few extra sounds to English, ‘a’ becomes ‘I’, so when we say “we are going today” many overseas compatriots hear, “we are going to die”. Great video, Thanks.

hey do you want to collaborate on a video, ill be visiting tbilisi for a month in march and am thinking of taking a few daytrips around geo and explore (we could film and explore). I'm Georgian but spent most of my life in Germany and Czechia. I moved at 7... as for your video, it's lovely to see how the New Year is spent there, I wish the main Christmas tree looked different every year (like in Prague) but then again, I've never seen it in Person. I've really wanted to go to the Opera as I'm really fascinated by the building but there were no shows or tours on during my last visit...so it's also on my Bucket List. As for Ballet/Opera, I mainly go during the winter as well especially when the Nutcracker is on...

I must admit I've never really understood opera. I've seen one a couple of times - those plump men and women in stockings and funny costumes singing 🎼🎶instead of talking in their dialogues about whatever. Doesn't mean I don't respect it, great art no doubt, but I just don't get it. And ballet also! I'm straight (not that I in any way or manner disrespect people who are not) and those male crotches in those ballet pants are pretty hard core to my eye, I can't enjoy the sight.
