You were definitely one of the better dressed attendees... better than the models you showed on the catwalk, that's for sure! 👍👍

So, it seems that the Russian culture was founded by someone with Aspergers. I think I would get along.

Not my idea of an afternoon. Honestly those styles aren’t going to make it past fall. I’m more interested in the darker parts of the city. What lies underneath New York’s glitz and glamour. You realize that major dark dealings are happening within the city. Yet you are blissfully unaware.

Good looking dress you were wearing and it isn't as crazy looking as the model's outfits.

Let’s be fair. Americans are not stupid. Trust me. They’re not. And Russians are not evil. They’re absolutely not. This simplification of the two cultures serves no one any good.

Yes. Americans are “flakey.” It equates to unreliable. Plans change every minute. I’m sorry about that. It’s a social failing of ours. We are nice. But we have to follow through on our commitments.

I guess this “direct way” of Russian speech is only because these Russians do not know English language very well. Because when you are speaking foreign language - you can operate only with active vocabulary you know. And in most cases it is quite basic. As for being “direct”, my husband (American) is very direct. Much more direct than me 😂 I specially if he doesn’t like food at the restaurant or needs something. In general, I would say Russians are more sincere. They will not smile if they don’t feel this way. They will not talk to you if they are not really interested in conversation.

It's hard to pick a favorite, Dari. I already visited Brighton Beach and Long Island City, but I didn't get to spend much time in either, so I really need to go back.

Exactly.. I’m Russian and problem “not understanding” between our cultures interests me. I guess it deep and difficult. How we can build careful relationship between our states with such a difference?! Big question

I'm sorry, but as an American i have to be honest. Americans are rude. It's not that they're too polite, it's just that they really don't understand the saying, say what you mean and mean what you say.
