He's a really good player and likely defensive rookie of the year, but I think the greater point Colts fans should focus on is that they nailed a defensive pick. They've desperately needed someone to be drafted to make an immediate difference on defense for years, something they could legitimately build around instead of just throwing money at FA again hoping the parts stick. His stats like his sacks and forced fumbles are what's catching peoples eyes, but the reason he should be RDPOY is he covers first and is sent on only a few blitzes per game (Indy only blitzes in general 14% of all snaps). When they blitzed against the Titans recently on one 3rd and 8 play for example, they dropped Leonard in coverage after rushing 6. The defensive backs rushed, and he didnt. Later on in that same game, he rushed Mariota. That tells you exactly the versatility of this playmaker, and the confidence the defensive coordinator has in him on both sides of the fence. Few can do both, and that makes his value incredible to any scheme.
