This song really touches your heart. Enjoy every minute with your girls. Just yesterday, I was bringing my first child home from the hospital, and then 4 years later, a set of twins. I blinked and now that first child will be 40 next month, and the twins are almost 36. The grandkids are 16, 15, 7 and 5. I am clinging to every minute I can with them. Honestly, in the grand scheme of things NOTHING else matters.

Darius Rucker's voice is like honey and I will listen to it in any song, any genre. "There Goes My Life" (featuring a teenage Amber Heard), "Wagon Wheel," or dive into his Hootie and the Blowfish days with, "Let Her Cry." So much to explore with Darius! I immediately smile and melt when I hear his voice start a song. ❤️

Thank you for listening to this song. Knowing you have daughters, I thought this would be special to you two. This was actually the song my oldest daughter chose for our daddy/daughter dance at her wedding. I tried to talk to her throughout the song so I wouldn't get emotional. It didn't work so well but this is a moment I will never forget. Thanks again.

You two warm my heart so much talking about your kids so lovingly. It makes this old man's heart swell. I miss those days when my daughter was small however she is still my little sweetpea. She is now 38 and still lives with us. She was born premature and only weighed 1 pound at birth. Was in the hospital for 6 months before we could bring her home. She was on oxygen until nearly 5 years old due to her lung still developing. She has ADHD and is handicapped. She is still daddy's little miracle though.

Darius grew up in South Carolina listening to all kinds of music. He formed a band in the 90s with college buddies which became hugely successful and after they broke up he decided he wanted to tap into his country roots but wasn't sure how the country music community would accept him and if those that knew him as Hootie would like his style of country music. Well, as a fellow Gen X'er who also grew up listening to all kinds of music and can readily alternate listening to rock, pop, country, classical, R&B, Latin, and oldies, I was excited to hear Darius sing country songs for the first time. I love how country music tells stories that are relatable to the common man and as I get older I find myself turning to country music more than the other genres that I still love. I was just hoping that he would be successful and that he'd release songs that would fit into the 90s style of country music and not the latest "Bro Country" fad which has little lasting value. Well, not only did he release great music but his songs are a perfect blend of who he is and what he wants to say. His voice lends itself well to the genre and he surrounds himself with great musicians. My favorite of his songs are It Won't Be Like This For Long, Come Back Song, and If I Told You.

Up until probably the last 8 years or so I never watched country music artists I only heard them on the radio or a playlist. It was literally 10 years after Darius rucker released his 1st country song before I found out that he was a black guy. I never would have guessed either. I do remember thinking that he sounded super familiar, And then I found out that he was also the singer in the rock band Hootie & The Blowfish, But again I had never seen that band I had only heard them. This dude is top notch by the way. Without question one of the best country artists of all time.
