It's kinda sad the Nomai, being space goats, got stuck and died in Dark Bramble, because brambles kill sheep and small cattle by getting them entangled in real life.

My theory is that dark bramble doesn't get bigger through each seed but that you get smaller. that's why the angler fish in the museum is small. You might think that's not true because the fish stay the same size through each seed but I think the further you get in dark bramble the younger the fish are that's why the angler fish eggs are in the middle of dark bramble.

I’m convinced it’s some sort of hyperbolic space, and the seeds are of like horospheres (like a normal sphere, but the center is at infinity so you can infinitely nest more horospheres inside). Thus, there’s an effect of the space “expanding” as you go through: that’s exactly what’s happening.
@SysFan808

but then how would you have a seed inside itself? (i was going to say to take it out, but that would require traveling infinity twice)

someone found a way to turn off the fog (a mod probably) and dark bramble looks tiny lol. the walls are pretty close to the player and it's all the wood-like brambles. it was pretty creepy looking. I also think that the anglerfish produce the fog, since the small anglerfish tank at timber hearth has fog in it.

I LOVE the way Dark Bramble works in the final product compared to the alpha, as it’s actually possible to explore the few important locations, as well as the fact that the lights present a risk as they are both your way forward and a possible danger. But I actually thought the Alpha’s version of Dark Bramble was scarier. The Angler Fish we’re everywhere and just out in the open, and you could never really tell how far you were from them. If you got caught, it was near-impossible to escape as you’ll likely bump into a vine or lose which way you’re going. This discouraged exploration and made it almost impossible to navigate, and so a much prefer the final version. But I still think the alpha was scarier.

@@TheLoreExplorer Feel like a lot of people overlook the fact that Ember Twin (and Ash Twin) are made of sedimentary rock - Which is basically a bunch of sand squished together so hard that it starts being a rock. Angler gets pulled in to the gravity well by accident, has no means of escaping the surface of the planet, starves to death at some point, gets buried by sand, sand turns into rock above it. Caves get carved out by [unknown]. Nomai arrive. We don't really know how the Hourglass Twins formed, except for the obvious one - That huge equatorial canyon on Ember Twin clearly got cut by the sand falling back and forth. Presumably, though, the Twins had water (or another liquid) on them at one point, and said water has since evaporated away. We actually do have at least one instance of a "dry lakebed" being called such, so this supposition is made in canon as well. Speaking of canon, my headcanon is that before sand got passed between the twins, it was water (and maybe some sand in said water). Just imagine that. That would be awesome.

I have a theory about dark bramble, being that it was made by the Ewlk, due to the signal blocker's effect being visualized by a throny vines. And one may wonder how you could make a signal older than the universe blocked, and to do so the Ewlk made a bigger on the inside vine trap, dark bramble. The fact it expanded out of another planet may be a result of the signal blocker having lost connection with the stranger, and without any control went haywire and that's how dark bramble arrived to the ice planet. It also would explain how the nomai was stuck inside dark bramble, because it was applied over the eye at first, don't forget the coordinates of the eye are the same between each loop, meaning the eye doesn't move, furthermore the vessel gets out of the bramble too, and doesn't fall back into it. Because again, the blocker was non-functional by the time we arrive! This theory keeps building stronger and stronger the more you put other aspects into context.

I don’t think the original 5th planet would have been the largest, but it certainly would have been quite large. Perhaps the same size of giants deep (1km), or at least around 800m I suppose if you measured the curvature of the largest pieces suspended around bramble, (the one that has the most pieces clustered together) you could get an approximate size
@loxxedinabox
@loxxedinabox 29 күн бұрын
I think I have a rough estimate, and if not a very rough estimate. I think the radius of the ice planet would’ve been around 150m, so about the size of Ember Twin. Maybe a little bigger, maybe a little smaller, not completely sure but it’s around that. Since the seed is 200m in radius it makes sense that the planet would’ve shattered. If someone’s already calculated this I wouldn’t be surprised but I wasted a bit too much time on it.

All we have are theories and that's it. Your guess is as good as mine. Dark Bramble is kind of on that same spectrum.. it's reason is beyond our cognitive abilities. But- i wonder about the prior planet before the bramble destroyed it- Why it had the same species of life on it that was on Giants Deep? Why would a completely separate planet have the same life as another planet? What was the planet like before? And if the Jellyfish originated from Dark Bramble[Pre-Bramble]- why and how are they surviving on Giants deep? And how are they so well adapted to its core?
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 3 жыл бұрын
The jellyfish were frozen in the outer layer of an icy planet. As the planet exploded from brambles seed. the outer layer got thrown off. Leaving what is essentially frozen fully intact jelly specimens flying around in space. Giants deep, being so big, gravitationally tugged some pieces into its atmos and ultimately into the ocean. This thawed some of them out and they took up life on their new home. And they seem to just naturally be insulated. Maybe because they are thick blubbery things.

We can infer a few more things on the timeline here thanks to the Nomai and the Stranger. When the Stranger arrived the ice planet was still whole! Perhaps the seed was still growing then. Within a few decades, the passionate events on the Stranger unfold, and the Nomai receive the signal of the Eye, calling them to this universe. We know that the Nomai were killed 281,042 years ago, but they lived on this solar system for at least several centuries based on their average lifespan and Solanum's documentation. Therefore the ice planet was intact roughly 282,000 years ago. Now, here's the reason why this timeline truly clicks for me. What if all aquatic life in this system originated from the ice planet? We already know about the jellyfish and the anglerfish... but what about the "Hearthians?" The early stage of evolution this frog species were in while being totally alone on Timber Hearth suggests they were deposited there by the shard that smacked the Attlerock! This aligns perfectly with the Nomai's arrival.

There's only one thing I don't quite understand. After the explosion of the interloper core which wiped out all life in the solar system except water species, I assume that anglerfishes live in water. But in that case how are they able to live inside of dark bramble?
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 4 жыл бұрын
well, at the time of explosion anglers already lived in bramble. So for whatever reason bramble just wasnt affected(just like all the other plants). Though its still unclear how they adapted to living in bramble. Im guessing its due to the low oxygen levels of the ocean at deep levels. and high pressures allow angler fish to live somewhere pretty similar, just without actual liquid.

Ill be honest. I dont know the difference between the different kind of dimensions. But from my understanding dark bramble is a take on relative dimensions. A take on a small amount of space holding a larger one inside of it. Almost like the tardis from doctor who. Its also sort of taken from another game. The game elsinore has a story relating to something that looks very similar to bramble.(and the writer of that game was the art director of outer wilds) And this thing allows people who go through it to visit "other worlds". Hope that helps you with the theory!

soooo... if the various "rooms" inside dark bramble are other plants that ate other planets across the galaxy, why do we always exit to ours when we leave? Why wouldn't it take us to the others? Not sure that conceptually that makes much sense.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 2 жыл бұрын
I dont think you understand. The various "rooms" arent other plants. Thats all inside our bramble. And they arent rooms or whatevs. They are actually other dimensions entirely. The other bramble plants are only connected via the portals inside the vines. Like the one we find near the jellyfish which leads us inside. So in short. We simply dont have access to the portals that would lead us elsewhere. We find an easter egg in dark bramble that is reffering to another game. Where the inhabitants would use a vine like looking "portal to other worlds". The artist for that game is lead artist for outer wilds. Just because we dont have access to them as a player doesnt mean they arent there. And this easter egg does sort or prove we dont "always exit ours". Our scout exits to another solar system entirely. And we would too if we could fit in the seed. But sadly, only crashing our ship through the vines(like feldspar did) or getting in some other way will give us access to them. Which isnt an option in game. But they are definitively there Simply put. Bramble is a presentation of relative dimensions and how they can fit into each other and even themselves. And how they can all lead to eachother , and again, even themselves. This is literally just info from the game presented to you in a video format. And its a pretty well known concept. For example. Doctor Whos TARDIS is an acronym which means "Time And Relative Dimensions In Space". And its "bigger on the inside". But I dont disagree. It doesnt make much sense. Because our senses would be so confused in such a place. Our senses werent designed to be in or understand such a place. So it makes "sense" that it doesnt make sense to you.

Is the Dark Bramble 4 dimensional in nature? I'm not the most well-versed in the different dimensions in regards to literature, but I was thinking it would have been 5 dimensional (or 6, if 5 is the incorrect one). 4D relates to time, and 5D relates to alternate, parallel universe/dimensions, doesn't it?

@@TheLoreExplorer Well, whatever dimension it could be, it still makes sense (somewhat, I struggle with higher dimensional stuff beyond the 5th). When I first went to the bramble, one of my first thoughts was that it had to be something similar to a dirac sea, which I assume you know what that is, just less about being an infinte sea of negative energy and more to being an infinite vacuum. Obviously, it's not an infinite space, at least, I think, though there could be the possibility that it is.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 4 жыл бұрын
Im not sure itd be infinite. but i do think it connects to its sisters and stretches on and on. I actually dont know what the dirac sea is. Ive always used the doctor who explanation. They are just the same space but different relative dimensions. So you can fit one thats relatively small to you, into one thats bigger relatively to you, even though relative to a 3rd observer they are the same size. No real added dimensions needed besides the dorrway between the two. but again. Its way above my head. Im fit to handle 4d. Id like to keep it that way lol. though some modern day scientist say there are likely around 8 or 9 at least.
@physical_insanity
@physical_insanity 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLoreExplorer Oh no, you don't know what a Dirac sea is? Although, I guess that's understandable since you probably don't watch anime and have never even heard of "that son of a bitch" Hideaki Anno's magnum opus "the boy who would not get in the robot & other funny stories you can tell yourself" so your chances of hearing about the theory are limited. To be brief, a Dirac sea is a model of a vacuum as a sea of infinite negative energy particles, proposed by Paul Dirac in 1930, so you know it's old. It was first postulated to explain the anomalous negative-energy quantum states predicted by the Dirac equation for relativistic electrons (I just ripped this sentence from wikipedia, don't bully please), and while it's since been displaced by quantum field theory, they're both at least mathematically possible. I would wager that the dark bramble might at least be capable of something like this, or at least be similar in concept to this. It's an old theory of mine that the Dark Bramble was like this, since I was under the impression that it'd be infinite, since my early trips of me going inside took so long for me to drift to Feldspar (as I always followed the music from day 1) that I would just get the supernova happen not long after I arrived. I'm not much of a fan of Doctor Who anymore, not since Matt Smith became the Doctor and the writing went to shit, so I only just understand the model you were going with. Still, it makes some sense and is probably the best model atm.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 4 жыл бұрын
I agree. Writing went to hell in a hand basket. but the analogy fits I think. Though, space is infinite on its own. So Im still not sure how to dirac sea relates to bramble. Ive watched some anime though. just not as much as a normal fan would claim to have watched. Ive actually dabbled with the idea of doing a one piece lore series. As its one of the other stories I know as well as I know outer wilds.

I have a hypothesis that the best way to destroy the dark bramble (why would you want to do that) is to burn the seed that landed in timber hearth. If each seed contains the space within the dark bramble that contains more seeds that contains more space within the dark bramble, burning a seed would eventually burn everything inside including the other seeds. The cascading immolation will eventually burn everything within the dark bramble. It would be a very big drawback for having virtually unlimited space.

@physical_insanity
@physical_insanity 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLoreExplorer Well, considering I'm a living dictionary and thesaurus (jk), the definition of explode in the simplest terms is usually something coming apart, usually violently but not always, from a central point. You don't necessarily need a fireball to make an explosion, though a shockwave is a determining feature. If you put a watch under too much pressure by tightening the hand adjustment wheel, it will burst apart, or, more aptly, explode. The incident at the 5th planet can be considered an explosion, at least I wager my life's savings on it, since it's a forceful event that rips the planet to pieces. This is why secondary 'synonyms,' are listed as things like "fly apart" or "fly to pieces." When it comes to things like engineering, schematics and stuff, the term "exploded" usually refers to something taken apart and shown in it's entirety, say like a car engine, where you can view each part individually. Some old school lego sets came with an exploded view of smaller sets. Hopefully, I explained this without being too boring or unintelligible, I just get really into explaining language.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 4 жыл бұрын
We dont know if its forceful. id personally vote not. I dont think the seed hit the planet, and the resulting energy caused it to break apart. I think it hit much like the one on timber. then the vines grew all the way to the core. Slowly forcing each piece apart. lazy explosion? idk bud.
@physical_insanity
@physical_insanity 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLoreExplorer Yeah, that's what I thought it was too. Effectively, it'd be a low power explosion but an explosion either way, relatively speaking. I mean, for the bramble to crack the planet, it would have to grow at such an astounding rate that it had to have made the planet explode in some way. With the seed on Timber Heart, Tektite said at how the seed had gotten it's roots down quick, which at most would have to be a couple of or several days. That's pretty fucking quick for a seed that size. Give it several weeks and the planet could very well not exist anymore. It could just be a build up of pressure under the crust which make everything pop. All I know is that the planet came apart from a central point, therefore it had to explode in some way. Not all explosions have to be dramatic or some kind of discharge, or at least, that's what my doctor says.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 4 жыл бұрын
@@physical_insanity Im not sure how itd exactly work. It may just interrupt the center of gravity for the planet. since bramble itself has little to no gravitational pull, if it took over the core there would be nothing holding its pieces to the body. Cause even if it cracked open most of the pieces should of stayed in orbit. unless the whole thing violently exploded the pieces should of stayed. but either way I was for sure wrong. lol

Yall, what if dark bramble originated in giants deep actually and got to the 5th planet through some kind of event possibly related to the interloper and the death crystals on it. I mean all yark bramble seeds except for the planet itself have those shards around them. But they couldn‘t just be ice right? Otherwise they‘d have melted. Now the abglerfish are fish, and so possibly they were in giants deep before getting into dark bramble because of some event. I mean think about it, they live in some kind of gas. Giants deep is a gas giant with a water core. And assuming the fish aren‘t as big as we imagined coming from the being shrunk inside bramble, it makes sense also that one of them was small in the museum like someome else already mentioned. Now dark bramble looks like a vine plant with thorns. A bramble as it‘s name suggests. Now inside giants deep are dark corals. So what if they were mutated with the interloper explosion, and mutated into the first dark bramble seed. Then they got pulled out in some way out of the planet, possibly getting caught up into one of those storms, and by that were yeeted off into space. But you may ask, there‘s a forcefield at the core. You couldn‘t just get in and out easily. So maybe that forcefield was put there to contain the area by someone. Making the jellyfish create and maintain it. This may also be a stretch but remember, one jellyfish is in dark bramble if you do what feldspar tells you to try to figure out the jellyfish mystery. So why would one of them, attached to a piece of land there be on dark bramble? Well. Many things can be true ofc. But I think that there‘s a strong connection to giants deep and it‘s water gas anatomy. Could be a clone of dark bramble wich didn‘t have the electrical core burst open setting free the coral for infection with the crystal. Or something else. But I‘m almost certain it‘s something about dark bramble being related ro giants deep in some way.
