This short video is absolutely fantastic! The camera work is stunning, and there is no distracting talking and storytelling -- just the beauty and magnificence. The only change I'd make if it were mine is to get rid of the space music. Silence is golden. I hope we see many many more like this one!

Thank you so much! You might want to check out the videos I have from Escalante if you like this one. You can find them here: kzbin.info/aero/PLhLPXsUNXyqo_zy1Q3W_QOtKNT9V5zuCu They have never 4k footage

On an older map of this area, I noticed an old cabin marked on the north side of Dark Canyon between the Colorado River and Sundance trailhead. I'd like to revisit this area someday and see if that still exists as well as explore further up Youngs and maybe connect with lower Wooden Shoe where there's a reliable spring. Thanks Jarl for sharing!

This whole region is magical. It's just 'in your face' strata and tectonic history. You captured this beautifully, and I personally thought the music felt indigenous. Like the canyons themselves composed it. Pretty cool stuff Jarl. Thank you! ☺🙏❤

Great video Jarl of really unique place. In 2009 I did a 300 mile, 19 day unguided rafting trip down the Grand Canyon and we did some day hikes, but I've never backpacked in that kind of environment.

Thank you Bryan! Its quite stunning there, my favourite area to backpack, so unique, would have loved to do a rafting trip down the Colorado, sounds like a lot of fun!

Really beautiful photo work. Keep the videos coming as they are top quality. Would love to see Dark Canyon but the Sundance "Trail" look like it could kill a pack mule. Is there any other way to climb out?

Do you need any technical gear for this hike? Would it be doable with a dog?
@NorwegianXplorer5 жыл бұрын
Hey, no technical gear needed, but the non-technical stuff is pretty steep with class 4 climbing/scrambling several places every day. Not sure if a dog is a good idea, I wouldn't know if its even allowed, it gets pretty hot, lots of stuff to hurt your paws on, and you would have to carry the dog a lot. I am not an expert on this so dont quote me lol. Thanks for watching!
