I used to turn on my PS2 just to hear this amazing song. I never once skipped it in my haste to play. It was almost part of the game, and it seemed to me that playing the game without hearing it at least once made the experience incomplete. One day soon, I'll own DC2 again, and in the future, I'll be looking forward to DC3.

@@PJ-sv4iw oof, sorry, I had just woke up and misread your first sentence. It was a lot more hostile an hour or so ago. XD But to answer your question, I never did get a copy. I instead got a good PC and emulated it. I do have the PS2. One of my buds gave me a softmodded memory card and some DVDs so I had a blast doing that. As for part 3, it was doubtful 8 years ago too.

@@Sterl500 Me too, at the time of writing this, I'm at Sindain, seven years ago I was stuck at the waterway, mainly because I didn't really know how to play and kept grinding till I upgraded the classic gun to the missile launcher. Then I would die, play the game from scratch and repeat the process (No clue how I was so patient)

I am crying every time i listen to this track, it reminds me when I was a child, i was born in 1993 and this game was one of the first games I ever played solo that earned his memory in my heart by the outstanding music inside of DC. However, I've been always feeling attracted by those melodies, so much that i never quite understood why. Until 2013 when I discovered music production. Since then I learned by myself how to make music I love and god if I did it..! Now is't almost 2021, I am 27 Y/O and was just 9/10 when this game entered my world. I'm still convinced about this music, i am still remembering my childhood and associate a lot of memories inside this music. Almost ready to show my music to this world, will not be thankful enough for the path that this game & music showed me. Can't wait to give back to the world some real feelings. I played the original Dark Cloud a bunch growing up, and have nostalgia for that, but just never ended up getting this one. A year or two ago I finally decided to get and play it, and man, the nostalgia I would've had for this... Simply an amazing game. Honestly I thought the story was some serious hot garbage, and couldn't really get emotionally attached to anything, but everything else? The gameplay is such a massive improvement to Dark Cloud 1 in so many regards, and I love everything about the music, environments, art design, etc.

If Dark Cloud 3 exists one day, i’m certain that it will never give me the same feelings i felt playing 1 & 2. See with the remakes of Ratchet & Clank as per exemple, i feel like it’s.. not the same flavour, still good, but not as much as i remember. My opinion is subjective for sure, but maybe those games should stay intact in our hearts and memories instead of getting a sequel which might be less rich and inspired.

I was fortunate enough to play through both dark cloud 1 and 2 alongside my mom when I was just a child, probably 7 or 8. We would stay up really late (like 1 or 2am) in the summertime. I live far away now and don't see her much, but whenever I hear this soundtrack I think back to those beautiful moments we shared. Man I wish they'd make a 3rd game with new gen graphics...

Thank god this game series ever got an English release, or I would be scrounging the internet right now looking for a fan translation just to play. I am very happy with my ps2 copy of the second game, that I bought about 4 months ago. Almost done with the 7th chapter and I am already planning on starting a new game right after, so I can 100% this bish. I had the pleasure of experiencing the game for the first time ever this year, for I had (and loved) the first game as a kid but couldn't beat it. so this in my opinion, is the better game .

I love games from those decades, I really do. But have you played Dark Cloud 2? Atmosphere is it's biggest strength, I'd say. The music, the art-style, the voice acting... It all comes together to deliver a vibrant and fleshed-out world. It's borderline intoxicating.

Dark Cloud/Chronicle 2 is literally my favorite game EVER. It sucks so much that I do not own it anymore (my brother sold it to Gamestop before I could finish it, was at the last area), and can not find it anywhere, as it is a pretty rare and not very well-known title. The only games that come close to it for me are Okami (really close, actually), Portal 2, Rock Band 3, TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds (favorite handheld game), Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Burnout 3, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, and Braid. I know that seems like a whole lot of games, it's just they're all extremely close to my heart. But Dark Cloud 2 trumps all! And just to let everyone know, I was born in the late 90's, and never have gotten a chance to play many older classics, but I'm getting around to them.

Hi guys ! For your information, soon (very soon) the game will have retroacheviements on pcsx2 (Qt build only witch i advertised strongle specially in developper builds) . Actually Dark cloud had already a set. Dark Cloud 2 in NA as known as Dark Chronicles in Europe. Beware ! Only USA version is compatible for ! but at least it's in ntsc 60Hz witch better by all regards (except for alnguages support of course obviously).
