Yeah most fan theories say their either 1k sons who got trapped in the warp whilst travelling during the great crusade and then just hid themselves, the others say they are the geneseed of the 2 lost primarchs which games workshop needs to say who the fuck they are and if their marines were given to the ultra marines

They are not, they have to be ALL psykers, not the majority. There is also the Rubric of Ahriman thing, which caused everyone that was not powerful enough within (or related to the) Thousand sons to become rubric marines (Converted to dust and their souls trapped inside their power armor).

Looking back now, i just realized the weight behind that tiny unnoticed line. I doubt they planned that far ahead, but suddenly the entire stupid crusade makes sense, kinda mindblowing!

It was picked upon from a very start. Suspicion of Blood ravens corruption started at very least with dark crusade. Just watch its victory cutscene who is so grim that it would fit better as defeat cutscene. There wasn't anything subtle about it. It is just you guys either not playing their campaign or not getting the most obvious things who outright says such things.

@@REgamesplayer Blood marines suspicion was huge part of the plot of DoW 1. Doesn't an Inquisitor show up halfway through the campaign? Aren't they betrayed by their own librarian? I too don't think that it was planned exactly as it turned out, but the option was always in there. Pretty good storytelling in my books.

@@Washeek I had meant that Blood Ravens themselves were doing something shady. In vanilla games Gabriel Angelos proved to be faithful servant of the Emperor. It is only at Dark Crusade start hinting of their corruption like attacking Imperial Guard forces when they had no right to it.

It's really astounding that Boreale and Thule have the same voice actor. Just shows how important writing and direction really are. In Soulstorm it sounds like they made him read all of his lines really fast in one go and for some reason.

I love Davian's slow intro into his speech, it sounds as if he is making it up as it goes and is doing it in the most correct way possible.

It was this intro, as seen in the free demo, that made me buy Dark Crusade. From then on, i was hooked. The storyline is compelling, the narrators made you feel like you were part of the campaign, and fantasy was much nobler than reality. Unfortunately, Soulstorm lacks some of the dialogue and plot that made Dark Crusade so great. However, I'm still a die-hard fan of Warhammer 40K. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!

I'm not so sure that Magnus is the Primarch of the Blood Ravens, and even if Magnus is their Primarch it doesn't mean that they are traitors. The first of the Gray Knights were Astartes from the traitor legions still loyal to the Imperium

Its been heavily implied that the Blood Ravens were in fact an off-shoot of the Thousand Sons traitor legion, making their hidden primarch in fact Magnus the Red, as in the DoW novels, Ahriman meets and recognises a Blood Raven, and both chapters have crave hidden and lost knowledge, not to mention that their original first chapter master was a Thousand Son loyalist from the Horus Heresy.

Most likely the Blood Ravens split off from the Thousand Sons and remained loyal, which would explain the terrible secret of Kronus and some of Eliphas' lines.

ye a million is the rough number taking that most are codex chapters 100 standad marines then the officers etc but i would imagine that the ultramarines gene seed gets a regular workout in the labs, not the blood angels one though :(

The Blood Ravens are a successor chapter, they have no primarch. As for what first founding chapter they are founded from, there has been no conclusive answer. The Standing rumor is that they are founded from the Thousand Sons gene seed. Like I said, standing rumor.

Games Workshop stated flat out that the Blood Ravens are not descended from the Raven Guard or Blood Angels. Given the huge proportion of Librarians in the chapter, and their approach to warfare, they're almost certainly descended from the Thousand Sons.

I think he was hinting that the Blood Ravens were descendants of the Traitor Legions, but not necessarily the Word Bearers themselves. Considering the value the Blood Ravens place on knowledge, on studying their enemy, and their very high number of Librarians, I would say they are descended from the Thousand Sons.

the black rage is what you were referring to, the administratum say the blood angels are weak because some have given into it, what they dont realise is that it makes them strong for they must resist its temptations every day of their lives or be forever damned, i dont think the thousand sons have more psykers than other chapters/legions just they were the only ones to avoid the spell put in place by ahriman, plus im not sure a chaos primarch would be guiding an imperial chapter

The inquisitor tells him job well done for the belief he has destroyed the daemon. After he leaves the daemon appears to Angelos and thanks him, telling him that were it not for the sacrifices of Myr, Akios and Bale he would have been destroyed by the Daemonhammer's strike. At the end of Dark Crusade, if playing as Space Marines, the player sees Inquisitor Toth questioning the Blood Ravens for their actions on Kronus.

It's a solid theory but there's room for doubt. For one, Blood Ravens geneseed is reasonably stable aside from a minor mutation, enabling them to have perfect recall. At least, as far as the Inquisition can tell based on their periodic examinations of SM geneseed. Whereas Thousand Sons geneseed is known for exhibiting psyker related mutation. This accounts for another spin on the Thousand Sons theory, namely that the BR are the result of the Imperium trying to make stable Thousand Sons geneseed.
