Don't listen to the people talking trash. That kind of spirit doesn't belong in the piping community. Your pipes sounded great and your playing was clean. With all the actually terrible piping going around on youtube, you are a breath of fresh air. Keep on piping!

This will be piped at my husband's funeral on 24th July 2023. I am listening to it now. It is the very tune he sang to our three beloved children when they were babies to get them to sleep. There is a symmetry in my soul when I listen to this. Thank you.

My dad was buried and marches to his grave with this tune by my wee nephew who is a piping prodigy.. I miss my dad so much and he did so much for Scottish music and musicians and charities.. His name was Donald mackay Smith and his band was donny and Diane's Highland ceilidh band, and his studio was called Smith Mearns recordings.. Lovely playing btw, and nicely recorded..

To whoever this young man is: you play excellently. And to whoever filmed this: beautiful cinematography. This touches my soul, and as a piper myself who many a time has wondered to the sea or up in the cliffs to play, I will never tire of hearing the pipes.

When I lived in Baltimore, there used to be an old man who would go out into the alley and play the pipes. He would simply stand there, alone, as glorious and astonishing music unfurled from those pipes. The setting was about as far from majestic or beautiful as anyone can imagine...back-alley Baltimore is old, tired, and not a little dangerous. That old man was a miracle!! Your playing calls his to mind. And hey...this is the tune about Benbecula, isn’t it?

Hello from Spain !...firstly, once more, for your amazing and beautiful clips. Obviously I am an amateur piper. I had from more than 30 years a Galician bagpipe, and recently I bought a cheap Highland bagpipe...of course, I'm having several troubles to order and put fine the pipe. Mostly, my problems are with preasure losts (loses ?...excuse my English). Thanks very much indeed for your adds and lessons.

First time I heard this it was in a 3rd season episode of Stargate Atlantis. It was performed the traditional way in honour of the series’ main (Scottish) character of Dr. Carson Beckett who was tragically killed in this episode. (The character himself was portrayed by Scottish-Canadian actor Paul McGillion). Very powerful scene mostly because of the this very powerful and moving piece. It took me a while to find out the title of the piece and I am glad the search brought me here, listening to it once more., even if, once again, it made a grown man cry.

I found a letter she wrote to my father, she mentioned that I didn't like her, how sad I am to read that! I'm not sure why? Everytime I hear Bagpipes I think of her and I'm proud of my Scottish background! Hope we meet again!

Come on, can you not ask for something a piper doesn't get asked to play every 5 minutes, do you know how many exceptional tunes there are, and what about Gordon Duncan tunes or perhaps a couple of Seaforth highlanders marches.. No? Plus as a song for a national anthem Scotland the brave has far better lyrics and is actually a far better song than flower of Scotland, which has its place but is very defeatist stb is a much more fitting song for any scot who won't lie down to tryanical rule.

This piper is exquisitely set at a 467 Hz Low A, WHERE PIPES SHOULD BE (NOT 480 Hz). This makes the difference between a majestic instrument sound and that of tortured cats. Kudos! Nicely played. Nice drones. Looks like a Sinclair chanter, but I would be interested to know.
