I’ve just watched this 3 times on the bounce. I watched many hundreds of standalone sets and this mate, this is very special. It’s genuinely amazing. Not only my favourite video but it’s actually the best piece of new music I’ve heard in months. Just awesome.

Yes, killer track! I’d love more Push 3 centric videos!

Really enjoy everything in this jam 🤩 (the drum groove with all the ghost notes, the big distorted industrial sounds, the pads, the arp, the structure, the live tweaks... Well I think you got it 😄)

What is this sorcery? This was a great track with a really unique sound (unless this is a whole genre that I've missed). I think you achieved your goal in creating something dark, yet danceable.

Great track, love the bit where it breaks down and the bass line comes clear around 3:45.

Thanks for this! I've been struggling for a while with my music. I can't creatively draw the song out in arrangement..now with macros for effects on master and scenes set up I can perform/write the track in one go. Cheers!

Great track! If you liked setting up the macros for a live set, you should take a look at the Akai Force. It's more customizable than the push and you can setup the fader and macro knobs any way you want.

Had one for a while. Really enjoyed the macros and fader, yeah. And thanks!

Well done Jay. Amazing amount of planning and deligence. Is the the new Push 3 groove box performance king? or Production rig for Ableton Live 11/12 ITB? Respect to all you do. Thanks, Stephanie

I don't find working in standalone all that much fun, so it's less a groovebox for me and more a way to build complex setups, remove the computer, and perform with only a piece of hardware. But there's nothing else for me that can make a full set of songs in one place as well. And thanks!

After using a clips-and-arranger workflow, nothing else really seems worthwhile. It's just so much easier to get stuff done that way...

Quick question, I just got a push 3 and I'm wondering how you use each knob to control an effect without switching to each effect with the button under it if that makes any sense. Thanks for the help in advance!
@JayHosking2 ай бұрын
I'm using the MultiMap tool from the Max4Live Essentials bundle (it's free). You can map whatever parameters to one knob. Enjoy!

Awesome! and your verdict, if you can use just one machine between Oct and Push3, which one could be your choice?
@JayHosking7 ай бұрын
For single songs, and maybe full sets if I can get clever enough: the Octatrack. The Octatrack is my favourite hardware ever, period. But for full sets, for now: the Push 3.

Great work mine arrives this week...controller mode though (I'll just hide the laptop discretely 😅..I was thinking about documenting my journey...what camera do u use? I also don't want my voice or fsce to feature...what editing program do you use to have the writing appear like that? Cheers Jay
@JayHosking8 ай бұрын
Any camera will do, and with good natural lighting, even a phone is awesome. These days I'm using the Sony A7IV. For video editing, I use a free piece of software called Davinci Resolve. All the best on your journey!
@retlasd8 ай бұрын
Agree with Jay's response, any camera - will do, but a good stand helps to get an over the shoulder or top down view. I've just started using DaVinci Resolve - it's an amazing piece of software for free, I found starting off with iMovie has helped get my head round the editing basics first though. Good luck and have fun!👍
@JayHosking8 ай бұрын
Great call on the stand,@@retlasd. I use a very heavy mic stand with a boom arm, but there are other great options, too.

Amazing as always! How do you like the mpe pads? I just got back into ableton after years away and I am eyeing push 3.
@JayHosking7 ай бұрын
They're good, but I'm not a huge fan of most of the stock synths, so I don't end up using the pads as much as I'd like. Maybe I'll aim to do more playing on the next track!
@colemancahill86957 ай бұрын
@@JayHosking thanks for the feedback. I bought arturia pigments that I think is compatible and so far it has been pretty nice. More modern than all my old komplete synths from years ago. I haven’t been using the ableton synths but I am sure I am missing out on some.
