So when L follows a short vowel, just pull back the tongue is enough? No need to have schwa sound while pulling back the tongue, right? Thanks!
@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole4 жыл бұрын
Good question. In words like call, tell, will and full, there is no added schwa sound before the final L. You glide your tongue from the vowel sound to the L sound. Make sure to focus on what the back of your tongue is doing for this dark L sound. It's pronounced farther back in your mouth, and the back of your tongue rises. The front is less important.

Thanks mam mam tell me which sentence is correct All are correct. All are corrects. All is correct.
@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole5 жыл бұрын
It helps to have some context. What does "all" refer to? I'm assuming you're referring to something plural. Let's say "answers" for this example. "All are correct" is the correct sentence. "Corrects" with an "s" is not a word. It's possible "All is correct" could work in a specific context.

what about when a vowel comes after dark L like telling or killing, Is it really become light L as you said or sounds like it? I've seen this video more than 3 times right now, I have no idea how should I thank you, I appreciate you so much.
@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole5 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I know you asked me that last week too. I should make another video on that topic. It is a dark L in tell and kill, but then becomes a light L again when you add the ing ending, since the L is now before a vowel again.

@@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole but l is pronounced as a dark when come at the end of a syllables . Here in words " feeling or sailing" ,L is the end of the first syllables " ail","eel" and then the second syllable comes " ing " .Am I understand right or wrong?
@soniamayrink32953 жыл бұрын
Lull, has both sounds, doesn't it?
@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole3 жыл бұрын
Yes, a light L at the beginning and a dark/syllabic L at the end.

Hi dear how r you? For my pronunciation listening is important or Reading? Because some people say I P A symbol is perfect. But when i listen some native speaker that doesn’t match with I P A symbol. Please help me
@EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole3 жыл бұрын
I suspect you may be using a British IPA chart and listening to maybe American English. Make sure you use the IPA symbols for the dialect of English you are listening to. American IPA chart: americanipachart.com British IPA chart: www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/phonemic-chart
