Dark Magician archetype has always been a favorite of mine, and I really enjoyed seeing your profile on your version of the deck, always good to see ideas to keep twerking to get better and better. I recently came back to Yu-Gi-Oh and built a Dark Magician deck after seeing all the support it has gotten. My favorite combo in my deck has to be using knights title to bring out Dark Magician Knight when i'm running circle and soul, so then not only do I get to banish because I can bring my magician back from the grave after using Knights Title but Dark Magician Knight can also destroy any card on the field... so its a nice combo when you need the board opened up. Plus Knight is my favorite card in the whole game xD so it's nice to be able to have a deck that supports it so well now.

I think a cherries build is better in a competitive scene but this build is solid. also having pot of desires and dimensional barrier would help as well.

I've been thinking about getting into yugioh again after what must be close to a decade and Dark Mahican is probably my favorite card ever. That being said, is it worth getting into the game and building a DM deck or will DM eventually be useless. Not looking for a tournament level DM deck, just something fun to play at a local shop or something

I'm always confused about the 1 of Inheritance and illusion in decks. You can just run thru your deck every game with at least 2 of each. The amount of 1st turn searching and drawing you'll do is insane.

actually Eye of Timaus is searchable but only the versions in languages that changes words based on gender for example if you use Auge von Timaeus (german version) Dark magician and dark magician girl are specificly mentioned ("Dunkler Magier" und "Dunkles Magiermädchen") the same should be true for french I think but I speak no french

Bruce Wayne I actually only run one in mine but ebons effect u can use to pop back row but also I I run dmgirl so I use dark burning magic attack which when both DM and dmgirl are on the Field it nukes their field but yes one dark magic attack is useful

Nicholas Eisenhower they're definitely too powerful. I opted out my fusion Dark Magicians for the Xyz and I can OTK a lot more with the Ebon Illusion Magician than the Amulet Dragon or Dark Paladin.

I feel you on that one, but that being said, the only xyz's i ever go into are ebon illusion magician, occasionally clutch big eye or flare metal dragon, and very rarely ebon high magician to use stuff like mirror forces and whatnot from hand. so honestly there's plenty of room for them. i've gone into anything below rank 7 even though i run some 6's, 3's, utopia and whatnot. not to mention the satisfaction of banishing a Return of the Dragon Lords and then banishing that 3 headed bastard.
