Dark Matter and the Dinosaurs Lecture Series: Professor Lisa Randall, Spring 2018

Lisa Randall studies theoretical particle physics and cosmology at Harvard University, where she is a Frank J. Baird, Jr. Professor of Science. Randall’s physics research connects theoretical insights to addressing puzzles in our understanding of the properties of matter, the Universe, and space. She is an exceptional thinker with the ability to connect complex science to the everyday world around us. Randall has also contributed to the arts in writing the libretto, Hypermusic Prologue: A Projective Opera in Seven Planes which premiered at Paris’s prestigious Centre Pompidou. And she is an avid rock climber, exploring terrain across the globe.
Randall was featured on Time Magazine’s list of “100 Most Influential People” of 2007 and her books Warped Passages (2005) and Knocking on Heaven’s Door (2011) were featured on New York Times’ lists of “100 Notable Books.” Her latest book, Dark Matter and the Dinosaurs, is a sweeping evolution of the Universe, the Milky Way, the Solar System and of life.

if the minimum value position is on the otherside of an event horizon surface, and the maximum value is the entire this side not on the horizon, the horizon itself is one third of the whole and the medium. Is it possible dark gravity comes from the inertial side of the mass equation which is on the horizon inside so can communicate .

Dang she's smart! Watching this after watching ppl like Sean Carroll, Michio Kaku, and of course Neil DeGrasse Tyson, what occurs to me is that she's not quite as dynamic a speaker as those guys, but everything she says is so spot on point and direct that she keeps your full attention just the same. And she's a bit more dorky than those guys (except maybe Michio Kaku, who is REALLY dorky), but the dorkiness kind of makes her even more believable in a way.

It's very interesting how confident she is that it is not speculation that "Dark Matter" exists. Yet, it can't be seen, can't be observed or measured and is transparent. I wonder if she believes in God. He, too is unseen yet we can observe the effects of His work aka: Creation.

Not only do her credentials properly convey her expertise, but any introduction stating her beauty would be likewise dead on accurate. I am impressed with her in every way. Doing a quick Wiki check on her gives me hope there might be other women as attractive and smart as she is, and who carry their age so well they look timeless. I am a Christian so I'd hope to find that in someone like her, too. I wish she'd read this 8}. My question is could the extreme gravity of black holes or wormholes alter our brane's current set of Standard Model particles and possibly therefore be instruments into other dimensions, where other similar alternate Standard Models exist? Speculative, but a point to ponder nonetheless.

Two things: 1) As someone who was raised on boxing from the age of four and who went on to participate in ice hockey and football, it seems apparent to me that Lisa might have incurred a jaw injury in her early life. I've known many guys who've sustained such an injury and while some have gone on without any obvious effect to their speech or facial structure, some have proven to be the opposite. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if she has had injured her jaw. She's quite physically active, so it isn't beyond what's possible. 2) Eerily, I was listening to a podcast on KZbin about missing persons and her name came up in the case of Cameron Remmer. I don't want to preface anyone's knowledge before they examine the known facts, but suffice it to say I was shocked to hear her name mentioned. The podcast on Remmer's case was done in two parts and if memory serves, the mention of her name is in the second part. The podcast is "Thin Air Podcast".
