Dave was the only guitarist after Frusciante's first departure in '92 who was worthy to fill that slot. One Hot Minute is definitely the best non-Frusciante RHCP album. Best two guitarists of their generation for sure.

definetely we love john, because he's the main guitarrist of the peppers (with respecto to Hilel), and he recorderd BSSM that its fucking perfect. but OHM its the 2nd greatest disco of RHCP, in 3rd its californication in my opinion. and btw... Navarro its way better guitarrist than john, more accurate, precise, professional. I want to make it clear again, I LOVE JHON, but because what he have done, but, go check rhcp lives from navarro era, they sound better than any other rhcp era. frus best performances are stadium arcadium era, but pre and OHM era, its the best

Dave is an amazing guy, I love his playing in RHCP but I also love his solo album Trust No One, it was very nice for Dave to record something new, it's a pity that we haven't heard anything from many years from his solo works... I would like to feel these emotions again with something new..

@@billybutcher4995I think they stepped out of their comfort zone with BSSM. Before that album, they couldn’t even consider playing slower/more melodic songs. Also they went a bit more minimalistic in their playing, and started doing in some tracks something different than their punk/funk they used to do in the 80s.

One of the senseless things from the RHCP is they don't play any material of the Dave Navarro or Josh Klinghoffer eras, because Fruciante doesn't want to, and it's a real shame man....there is real good stuff on there

My first Chili pepper album was OHM. I think I was around 11 when I go it. In my mind at the time Dave was the first guitarist of the band hahaha. After a little exploration/education at that young age, I later realized the Chili's, since the beginning, have always had a different guitarist....I personally love hearing his shredding and style in RHCP a little more than John. I also wish John would give a nod to Dave and play at least Aeroplane on a tour.

OHM favorite peppers of all time.. raw, heavy, full of emotions, drug fuelled, DARk, very much out of college immature type of the traditional peppers sound.

So, for you perspective, you think that songs like Otherside, Cant Stop, Dani California, Snow, Parallel Universe or Power Of Equality are ""immature"? Don't you know the technique on instruments that you need to play that stuff? If there's a child who can play like Hendrix, o or play bass like Flea does, he need to practice years, and that's not "immature". To make pop rock songs doesn't mean that you don't know about musical theory. YOU NEED to know theory and composition, to make songs that moves thousands of people. Of course, not you, and it's fine. You may not like them, like every person with different taste, but there's complexity also to have done that material

@ lol.. did you understand what i said? their songs are not pop rock either crying out loud. dave navarro's guitar is heavily influenced by hendrix as well. you also said, i dont like them? do you even know what OHM is? and why'd you assume someone in the interweb doesnt know how to play the guitar or and music theory and knowledge around the fretboard? geeze.

@@f.i.l.d.e.p.s All what I wrote was because you define "immature" their music. I love OHM but not because is "dark" is "mature". It's that definition what is very subjective

@ rhcp were a band ever since they were kids, they played like any party boy bands thus young and immature. socks on their cocks? playing naked? blends well with their earlier songs. all people go through the same stages in life and reaches maturity and adulthood. same as anthony and flea and the rest of the band, troubled life, drugs and adversities, they went through all especially anthony. These adversities makes people mature and OHM depicts that and in fact their troubled stages in life, heavily influenced with drugs, dealing with other people's death, listen to tearjerker, about kurt cobain. etc. anthony was struggling with his addiction, tried so hard to stay away from drugs, was doing great until he tasted pain killer when he went to the dentist then relapsed and became addicted to it. Anthony was mostly away from the band, hence flea did a lot of the tracks with Dave. if you listen to their early records, you would know what i meant.

What are you even talking about? They hired him, made an album, paid him, and things didn't work out. They're all friends now and have performed with him on a couple occasions. The only reason they don't play OHM songs live is because John doesn't want to. I don't know what more you expect. You want them to dedicate the entire next album to him or something?
@Frilleon

@@JTidiotboy what I am mainly talking about is how they treated Dave and his contributions when RHCP was inducted into the hall of fame. And if you’ve followed them for the last 30 years like me you’d know that Anthony and Flea never really got along with Dave, even if recently they’ve done a couple things together. There was a long time where it was clear they pretended Dave didn’t exist

@@danielbarron8761All Jane’s Addiction has done throughout their career is sell out arena’s, not to mention started Lollapalooza while headlining it. But I will concede RHCP has sold more music than Jane’s Addiction, but objectively as an artist myself (Red Hot Chili Peppers) are not at the same level creatively as Jane’s Addiction. Jane’s Addiction is pure art, I’d venture to say they are the band that is your favorite artists band.
