@ThinkStory There's the sound that is weird but did you also notice that Leighton with bleach tips is dancing around in the Prince dance scene. It cuts to him dancing around without showing Jason or anything else so seems deliberate. If there's two boxes then there's two Jason's that took wives and two trying to get back, but the boxes are in different positions.

Notice how Jay the impostor keeps making these little decisions that will eventually screw everything up as he screwed up in his own world. As episodes go by i am more and more convinced that the message here is, that your life is the direct result of your decisions and that you have to change your thinking and the way you act if you dont like your life, otherwise you'll just keep going on the same path and end up exactly at the same place that you are right now if you keep doing the same things that got you there in the first place. The key, same as in the box, its in your mind and only you can change yourself and your life, even if you could actually switch to another universe but you cant, because this is your life right now, here and now and its the only shot you got. You are always at the correct place, but your life is what you make it to be with how you act.

This is actually so much better than the book because you get to see the other side of things with the fake Jason, it’s much better. But man that end when I saw him cement uo the box I was on my own but just went JESUS CHRIST out loud… I was too impatient a few episodes in and read the book in one shot so I’m really glad how much it differs, given the author is the show runner… so glad you’re covering this. Did anyone else notice the DIFFERENT HOTEL SIGN? 1. After the restaurant dance scene, we saw (original) Jason & Amanda checked into a RED sign hotel 2. After blonde Daniella scene, there was that audible-transition snap, and yet it's still the misplaced Jason & Amanda, but in the same hotel with BLUE sign now Plus it feels subtly off with the way they act/talk, which led me to suspect it's a 3rd set of J&A. Could be a new world that split off due to the recent choices they make: like what if this is the 3rd set version where Jason & Amanda STAYED in bed together after the dance?

You forgot to mention that during the dance scene, Leighton (which I believe is the one from Jason's world was there dancing as well.) Might be a foreshadowing that he is the one to bring back Jason to his world by bumping into him by accident in a different version of their world.

Ah, my theory was wrong about Amanda not existing in Jason1's world, thus preventing him (them) from going back there. It's probably her subconscious desires with Jason1 being the better than hers. I figured if Jason2 did look for her, it would be for him to try and have an affair with her, since he seems to want to have the best of both worlds, literally. I'm glad he didn't accidentally kill Charlie. The box door opens from the inside, so I hope he brings a pickaxe or something. There has to be some kind of workaround. Maybe another Jason built his version of the box in another location and he uses his.

My wife said that maybe that's why Jay had so many cell phones in that storage locker, because he takes someone from from their world and puts them in another world and locks them there and takes their phone like he did with Ryan, which is a good theory. Makes you wonder how many people he's done that to. One thing we didn't understand is how is Jason and Amanda paying for things in these other worlds? They made it a point, in the show, to say that money from each world has different types of serial numbers, so how do they keep getting hotel rooms and food? Anyway, love the videos man. Great job.

Good point. I've thought of that as well. Actually this show is so unbelievable I'm having a hard time getting into it and almost stopped watching. For one thing why would Leighton give so much money for those amples just to trip out forever. Plus the main flaw is the mirror mirror concept from Star Trek just doesn't make sense. Even it there were millions of alternate worlds there's no way everyone would have an exact duplicate with duplicate names. I love science fiction but only if I can actually believe the science of it is plausible

The issue might be that Jayson and Amanda are traveling together. This creates an entanglement between both of them, so I think each will have to "travel" alone, at different times.

I love this show and there’s sooo many places this series can go especially when they increase the budget for season 2 … I don’t think it’s Amanda I think it’s both of them together the reason why Jason can’t get home is because he’s growing an attachment to Amanda and I have this feeling that they are becoming each others “Home” and that in the end while his mind tells him he wants to be with his wife and son the reality is Amanda may in fact be his real soul mate … what are the odds he’d find the one person willing to accept all his sides and literally go to hell and back with him and by his side. Now they are totally setting up there will be other boxes or doorways.

One of my favorite episodes because the slowness was focused on the right type of plot development. Anyone else notice his friend with the blonde tips on his hair was also at the club in the alternate universe dancing with them. Given the infinite nature of the multiverse jason concreting the box is meaningless. The original jason just needs to open a door to a world where the second jason never got around to concreting the box. From a probability point of view. The odds of jason 1 opening a door into his original universe is virtually impossible. Too many things have changed since he's been gone.

Every femto second you are moving into the branching foundation of an infinite space. Where you end up is based purely on your actions and the actions of the people and things around you. Free will and determinism mix together to collapse the probability wave function that your brain perceives as your temporal experience of the present. YOUR present isn't THE present.

You're wrong on a couple of counts. If original Jason did what you're suggesting, he'd end up in a different world regardless. Jason 2 has concreted the box on HIS (Jasonb1's) world. The box is not a time machine. It can't take you to a "Time" before the box as sealed. And the second point, they've already demostrated that a person CAN get back to their original world. Several times now. Jason 2 went back to his original world to pick up more ampoules that he'd sell to Leighton 2. And he's taken Leighton 2 to several other worlds and brought him back to Leighton 2's original world multiple times already now.

I think that Jason should go alone if he wants to find his world. I am almost certain that Amanda is the reason that it is not happening, and I believe it is subconscious from her side, she is not doing it on purpose. I am also wondering, if there are infinite number of worlds: is there any chance that the switch of Jason and Jay also happened in other worlds as well? And, is there any world where Jay took different decisions (e.g., the peanut accident did not happen, Daniella did not see the marks, etc.)? Some worlds where he did not seal the box? Although, I guess from the perspective of the movie, it would be too much to reflect on these worlds, too, and there is a risk for the audience loosing the emotional connection to the characters. But it would definitely make things more complicated.

OK I think I have worked it out. Different amounts of Ampules, the weird sound cue, The field notebook they were given but then never read, etc on top of the fact that we saw a Jason and Amanda that didn't make it to the box and got shot. That means there's a bunch of Jason and Amands who did. We are totally watching different Jason and Amandas getting back to the wife. In the end we will see one who did but then he's there's all the others we have being following who won't or is there a wife for everyone. IDK. But that is the big twist at the end n mic drop moment.

Kind of along the lines of asking a genie for infinite wishes... Don't you think Jason and Amanda could take a few moments to think really hard about a world where the box is in an intact lab with more amoules hanging nearby - much like the world they escaped from? I'm assuming for the box to work, the drug has to be the same in all worlds, so I would think many such worlds would exist, and they wouldn't have to take long to find one. Then, bam - prolonged search time for Jason's actual world.

Great episode, sad that Jason and Amanda wasted allot of the ampules on worlds that had only minor variations of his (the tavern didn't have a red neon sign, they didn't have a dog, Daniella had blonde hair). Jason 2 is both a genius and a complete idiot. He spends weeks, maybe months stalking Jason 1 learning his life, has both money and tech behind him for research, and he doesn't know Jason 1's son is allergic to nuts? For Daniella, she even said there were a lot of small changes in Jason, but the not knowing your son has a major peanut allergy was impossible for her husband not to know. I feel bad for Ryan 1, the guy's got less knowledge of what's going on then Leighton 1, but now he's stuck in some techno-futuristic Chicago, with no idea how to get back. Hopefully, what Jason 2 said about it being a "kinder and more progressive world then ours", otherwise Ryan 1 will troubles adapting to this new reality. My only gripe in this episode is that we didn't see more of what the techno-futuristic Chicago Ryan 1 was on was like or the other worlds that Jason 1 and Amanda 2 travelled too.

I like this show but it has a lot of plot holes. For some reason my mind keeps thinking that time will come into play somehow. There’s a corridor with multiple doors but what if there were multiple corridors in a grid. Each corridor is a different point of time. Almost like a storage building. Jason can go back to his world but before he was kidnapped, almost a third Jason but just from a different point of time

The plot holes you're seeing are because you're trying to impose your own head canon as the show's logic when that's not the case. They've pretty much already explained how the box works and time or time travel doesn't factor into it. You're not going to see a different Jason from the future or from the past, and the doors are not passageways to different points in time.

well, you asked... so... seems like the sci-fi component is being replaced by relationship dramas. still stuck on the "2 Jason's in the same timeline/world/super position" thing." and, on that subject, are there no penalties for timeline hopping... having a difficult time caring about the characters, both Jason's are always some sorrowful combination of sad and confused, "dark" Jason is sometimes angry.

Amanda is the reason Jason cant get back look how when Jason 2 brings someone else into the box he tells them to take deep breaths and clear their minds as to not influence were Jason 2 is taking them…

I don't understand why BOTH Jason and Amanda need to explore each world. This uses two ampoules of the drug. Why doesn't Jason convince Amanada to stay behind in the box not taking a dose and let Jason explore each world. This would give him twice the attempts. I assume Amanda wouldn't agree though!

To be able to stay behind in the box she still needs the drug though. The drug is what enables the superposition. If anything she would need to stay behind in one of the many worlds.

At first I am not really into this show, especially if you have watched Dark. I thought this show is trying hard about time travel concepts. But after watching the next episodes, I eventually loved it. This show is more than time traveling. It is about life. It is about our choices and decisions. It is about all the factors that made us who we are now. It is about the "what if's" in our lives. This show is really a thought provoking.

When Jason and Amanda open a door thats got concrete over it they’ll know that they’ve reached Jason 1’s world. Someway or another that concrete box so coming down. Another can be Jason and Amanda find a new good world and start living there. But making two different storylines will just confuse and ruin the show.

There is no way J is gonna be able to make things work. He has missed too much plus based the choices he has made in his life in his world he is a totally different person from the original Jason. And u can't just study up on 15 years of personal life experiences. Also I think as long as Amanda is with Jason he will never make it back home because the box will always know each person's desires and she has never been to his world so she can never sink with Jason's desires. Also J when traveling with another person always tell them to clear their mind so that he can control the destination of the box

How does the box actually work? Why doesn’t it disappear after they “leave”, is the box persistent across multiple quantum superposition experiences, or is each person creating their own version of the box. How would two people experience the same box? If they go to a world that already has a box in the same exact position are there actually two boxes in the exact same spot? Sorry, logic always screws with fiction.

The box only disappears if it didn't exist in the world before. If it already did (i.e it had been created) then that's the box they come through. At least that's how I read it.
