▸ Who Is Batman: Batman is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and debuted in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics on March 30, 1939. In the DC Universe continuity, Batman is the alias of Bruce Wayne, a wealthy American playboy, philanthropist, and industrialist who resides in Gotham City. Batman's origin story features him swearing vengeance against criminals after witnessing the murder of his parents Thomas and Martha as a child, a vendetta tempered with the ideal of justice. He trains himself physically and intellectually, crafts a bat-inspired persona, and monitors the Gotham streets at night. Kane, Finger, and other creators accompanied Batman with supporting characters, including his sidekicks Robin and Batgirl; allies Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon, and Catwoman; and foes such as the Penguin, the Riddler, Two-Face, and his archenemy, the Joker.
Kane conceived Batman in early 1939 to capitalize on the popularity of DC's Superman; although Kane frequently claimed sole creation credit, Finger substantially developed the concept from a generic superhero into something more bat-like. The character received his own spin-off publication, Batman, in 1940. Batman was originally introduced as a ruthless vigilante who frequently killed or maimed criminals, but evolved into a character with a stringent moral code and strong sense of justice. Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers, instead relying on his intellect, fighting skills, and wealth. The 1960s Batman television series used a camp aesthetic, which continued to be associated with the character for years after the show ended. Various creators worked to return the character to his darker roots in the 1970s and 1980s, culminating with the 1986 miniseries The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.
DC has featured Batman in many comic books, including comics published under its imprints such as Vertigo and Black Label. The longest-running Batman comic, Detective Comics, is the longest-running comic book in the United States. Batman is frequently depicted alongside other DC superheroes, such as Superman and Wonder Woman, as a member of organizations such as the Justice League and the Outsiders. In addition to Bruce Wayne, other characters have taken on the Batman persona on different occasions, such as Jean-Paul Valley / Azrael in the 1993-1994 "Knightfall" story arc; Dick Grayson, the first Robin, from 2009 to 2011; and Jace Fox, son of Wayne's ally Lucius, as of 2021. DC has also published comics featuring alternate versions of Batman, including the incarnation seen in The Dark Knight Returns and its successors, the incarnation from the Flashpoint (2011) event, and numerous interpretations from Elseworlds stories.

What if Dark Days was set in Pre-New 52. Stay with me here. We see people like Mr. Terrific and Mister Miracle and Plastic Man who haven't been seen in Rebirth. They do mention SS V JL, I know, what if they had a battle like SS V JL before Flash point. This is would be a retcon. Plus they show the tower from the first crisis . Joker is another story. I think that's one of the three Joker, maybe? I don't really know. Please Rob look at this theory. like or comment if you have any ideas to build this theory. :D

Damien Lee Honesty its a theory that holds water but we wont know how much water it holds until Casting which I think is the next title in the prelude tp Metal. Also I think its was either Scott or Tyion whp said Tim Drake will come back this Fall. I think he will return in Metal and be manipulated by Mr. Oz to do some stuff. Damien Lee I dont think the Anti Life Equation is able to yield Doctor Manhatten because seeing how Doctor Manhatten created the DC Universe. Although Mr. Oz could have made the Anti Life Equation to stop ManHatten if he went rogue, so ues I guess it could. When this comic takes place and my theory is true (which it probably isnt) then I think Batman knew about Manhatten and Mr. Oz and was getting everything to take him on and Mr. Oz didnt want him to figure it out so he forced Barry to create The FlashPoint Universe and then in- turn created New 52 in hopes that would stop Batman stop. Regarding the point at 22:03, the concept of Hypertime means that NONE of DCs universes are "gone" but rather still exist in hypertime. In fact, Another Nail, (akar Earth-898 Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium) had Hypertime versions of the pre-Crisis Earth-Three and Earth-S as well as three other Earths that supposedly ended with Crisis.

That's why Superman wasn't inspiring, and he spent two movies not developing Clark Kent at all (other than the Ultimate "pay twice so you can get the real movie the second time" Edition that he decided to make even though WB was fine with a longer movie). Yea, that mid/late 90s to early 2000s period was the best era in Comics of all. The same time when the DCAU was at its peak and rlly coming to fruition.... Paul Dini and Bruce Timm have always been the best creative team in Comics.... Nobody can write Superman or Batman like Paul Dini. Scott Snyder was awesome on Batman but Dini will always hold the top notch, His Batman and Superman is the one that most of us in our 20s and 30s all grew up with and all know and love, It's what defined the modern DCU. That Batman and Superman are the ones that we all know now..... Btw mister miracle is awesome, his new series is supposed to be rly good too.

One thing I will say is that DC and Marvel even should have one character who goes around universes trying to figure out this whole Mr. Oz thing or even have a character who goes around introducing other earths that could and would help Earth 0 (New 52 Universe) take down Mr. Oz and Doctor Manhatten.

Joker being locked in a cell in the Bat Cave hearkens back to an idea Paul Dini had for Batman Beyond, that Bruce would one day just lock Joker up, Cask of Amontillado style, throwing him some food every so often. As long as Bruce could hear him laughing, he knew Gotham was safe. Dini thought it was a little dark, even for Batman Beyond.
