My son is 48 and when he was a senior in High School, he wanted purple hair. Now, understand he is very artistic anyway and was pretty much an individual. He went to school full time and worked after school. He worked at a grocery store. He was fired from his job because his hair was purple. Now when he decides to do something different, people look at him as the artist he is expressing his inner colors. Confident. He is a tattoo artist and has traveled all over the U.S. and is known for his fabulous tattoos. And yes. I am 68 and have 5 tattoos. And my hair is pink and blue! I love the bright firey reds, oranges and pinks in her hair! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

a lot of make up can look amazing too. make up is not a way to hide beauty, it is to accentuate or express yourself and the way you look or want to look. I don't color my hair to "hide" my naturally really beautiful ashy brown hair. i just like colors and i like to express myself through my colorful hair. so what's so wrong about doing the same with (what's essentially) face paint? it's just color on your face!

+Guy Tang I worked at a drs office and I had just some red streaks in my hair and they made me color it to my natural color or I would be suspended.... and they were a natural tone....needles to say I got tired of not being able to express my self changes professions and now In cosmetology......I'm still a little nervous about doing something crazy to my hair but building up to it..... and with ur creativity and looks gives me that push I need..::: love ur work and hope I can be as great as u one day

What I love the most about these bright ombre colors is that she looks like her natural color is this dark, pinkish red and it got really lightened on the beach. I love this layout of the colors that simulates natural lightening patterns.

Here in Germany I find it really hard to find a job with bright hair, I am also in a german facebook group where they often tell that their boss told them to get a "normal hair color" so that really sucks. People here seem pretty conventional and boring to me, but its coming in baby steps, I remember being one of the first ones at my university having bold hair colors (blue/turquoise) but I am a glam type of girl, so noone could see me as a punk, because I wear pretty (no idea how to pinpoint it) sophisticated, glamorous and girly clothes, and also wear a more toned town version of the Instagram type of make-up. Now there are a few more with bright hair colors, but in my village at home I am looked at like I was an alien. But on the other hand a lot of times I walk into any classroom there is at least one person that tells me my hair looks awesome! The other day I just sat down and a classmate just randomly said to me "niiiiice" and I really appreciated that. Also not many salons here do bright colors, so I think 80% of our fb group (thousands of people) are doing it at home.

I'm in the US and I asked my boss if I can get my hair dyed a copper color, like my son. His hair is naturally a gorgeous copper! She told me no. I said, it is a natural color, because clearly I've never dyed his hair (he was like 1 or 2 at the time). We had to ask, if we went out of the blond or brown color families. Err what BS! I still haven't dyed my hair his color yet.

BloodyIRose It is so disappointing that people still think being creative and different is weird. And that it is so hard to find a job. Same thing with piercings and tattoos. I had a lip piercing for 6 months but I had to take it out for my internship. And I didn't even had any contact with customers! I was sitting in a office.. I think it is really sad that we can't be ourselves and we have to be the same..

i'm also from germany! i was applying for a few jobs, and still had pink hair, got instantly denied, so then i colored it dark grey/silver, which was suddenly more okay, but it makes me really sad, that it's seen as "unprofessional" or whatever. I don't get what a color on your head is supposed to say about your professionality. of course, i use my hair to express myself, but it hasn't got anything to say about my work! but i also rarely see people with crazy colored hair in my town. not even in the bigger one that has a million habitants. but i also sometimes get compliments from random people telling me "hey, your hair is so cool!", and that always makes my day :)

I've been a range of blues, turquoise, pinks and greens since I was 18/19 and I am now 35...I didn't care then what people said when they called me clown lady and Idc now, now that it's what everybody is doing. It's about what you want to look like and NOT what ANYONE else wants you to look like and I see it like this...people may stare but that doesn't necessarily mean that they don't like your look, they may be admiring your bravery and you might even be an inspiration to some who's afraid to jump out of the box to actually do it. ijs😄
