I don't know if he A BETTER and SMARTER way: Start to pay attention to the stylists who follow him - do they seem really into the mechanics of his techniques? Do they post their own versions of the styles and techniques that he's either chosen to hype or are trends that are KEY to well-done product lines' branding campaigns... I guarantee there's a few KILLER local stylists who CAN do the stuff he does, but because they have to make a living in Anytown, they have a more diverse clientele base & don't get to play with fashion colors every day who would LOVE the opportunity to show off their skills, flex their creative muscles, and would be SO happy to have you as a regular client - and as a walking advertisement for that stylist's more cutting-edge and freshly honed expressionism that's just what the fashionista ordered. And the cost won't be nearly as prohibitive...

And even if it is legit, it's SO marked up. At my local salon, it costs an extra $20 to add Olaplex to another treatment (like color or perm), or you can come in for a standalone Olaplex treatment, also for $20. Point is, it's affordable, so just call salons in your area.
