The theme song for this game is a cover of "Oh Death" a traditional American folk song that's been recorded by various artists since the 1920s. Until Dawn and both Dark Pictures Anthology games feature covers of this song. The version featured in Until Dawn was performed by Amy Van Roekel. I have a theory that the Curator is Death. "Oh Death" is the story of a man begging Death for more time, He shows up in the background of Man of Medan whenever there's a chance of a character dying, and he calls himself a curator of stories and a person's life is their story.

The part where the curator is introduced and says “I don’t believe we’ve met” must be because they don’t have man of Medan save data on this computer, because I got a completely different intro to the curator, he doesn’t introduce himself because you already know him, and he tells you that the story he’s about to share is “very different from the last” So no, Jane, it’s not embarrassing for him lol, the devs actually did cover this base.

Sorry I watched the entire fire scene and I cannot continue. We had a fire in our home and this brought out some very bad memories. No one died in our fire but we still have health issues 20 years later. A little too real for comfort. Hope everyone else enjoys it tho.

I'm surprised they didn't talk about how close of a concept (in terms of actions affecting the entire game/the Curator that is a sort of omniscient guide/horrible opening sequence you cant stop/"oh death" opening/finding things that allow you to see possible outcomes in the game). I know it's by the same people, but the fact that it does have those concepts that Until Dawn has made me so happy.

30:20 The song is based on an American folk song from at least the 1920s, attributed to Lloyd Chandler. Important (to me) versions include "O Death" by Ralph Stanley, which made an appearance in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?", and another "O Death" by Jen Titus that was used in the TV show "Supernatural" for Death's first corporeal appearance. It's hard for me to say which version is my favorite, they're all wonderful and I highly recommend you all check them out. Please add any more of your favorites, hive mind!

I loved this stream and immediately went over to eurogamer for more horror. I must say, i feel as if the theme of horror has really compelled me to watch more streams. Perhaps setting up some sort of theme for November, December, etc would keep others as well as myself engaged in your programing. Just one deputy to divert traffic...with no signs of any other emergency vehicles? I don't know about anyone else, but that's a rather large and rapidly waving red flag to me...if anything, the weather and time of day would make it much easier to see distant vehicles, whether they were hidden by foliage or curved roads. If I were that bus driver, I'd have returned to the diner and called the local police to make sure of the diversion...or even called right then and there (since I was stopped and there was no traffic coming). It's not that I think the deputy himself is suspicious, just the lack of other signifiers seems weird. Also, "Little Hope"? I've been through Hope, New Mexico and it can't get much smaller...there were like three buildings in sight with a sign prominently displayed in the closest building to the road that said "No public restrooms". Truly a horror after driving several hours through the mountains and across the desert with no stops along the way...and seeing spiders crossing the road at a mile's distance.

the deaths you mentioned were not all methods of execution for witches. The only real execution methods for witches (with the few obvious outliers) was hanging. Burning was not actually for witches but rather for heretics (also for females found guilty of high treason as hanging drawing and quartering required nakedness womens modesty was protected from this by them being burned instead). ducking stools and the such were really interrogation methods rather than execution methods. The crushing with stones you mentioned was not actually an execution method per se but rather a method to encourage/force someone to enter a plea at trial as this was mandatory. if you would not plead one way or the other ("stood mute") you would be pressed (giles corry who died in the salem witch trials suffered this because he refused to plead, the only words he spoke during the pressing apparently was "more stones") this is also where we get the term pressing someone for an answer from.

From my incredibly valuable insight as an American (/s): Police would likely just leave after putting up a “road closed” sign, that bus was taken from either an elementary (primary) school or prison, and it almost certainly should’ve folded like a house of cards after flipping. Based on those facts, there are definitely dark forces at work here.

well, props to the marketing dept. i now want to play this game and i've only watched the first 30 minutes of the stream so far. i don't like many horror games cause they are 1st person and they give me headaches, but this looks excellent. also, not a zombie fan, although silent hill is an exception because pyramid head. but yeah, valhalla is 9 days away now and that comes first and i have to start with the first game so man of medan is now in my wishlist on amazon to remind me to buy when i'm done with valhalla.
