I cant blame karishmas mom entirely. I see how aishwarya hasnt done much movies after marriage either. Karishmas mom probably thought abhishek would become a bigger star than amitabh and may leave her daughter ( as many bollywood stars do) so wanted to sign a prenuptial contract as many celebs do ( the wealth may have been only of abhishek) in case she ends up being a single divorcee. She may have also forseen jaya asking karishma to stop working. Jaya seems to have an odd reputation so perhaps there was some issue with living in their house. May be shes too controlling.
