Watching this video as an aspiring trad climber was incredibly educational! It was cool to observe your problem-solving , communication, and the process of placing gear. I even picked up some fun terms like "zippered that up," which I'll definitely be using! Thanks for the great video!

It's called , sewing it up when you place a lot of gear. Zippered gear is when you fall and all your badly placed gear pulls out.

DARK SHADOWS . What a classic climb!

Indeed! It never gets old each time I climb it.

I know you were PSYCHED to get that cam in at the top of that flaring offwidth!

The first time I did Dark Shadows was with Hexes and stoppers.

That would definitely add some excitement 😁

@@dswanderinggoat Yeah. Didn't have friends back when I did it the first time. I started climbing back in the mid 60s even before hexes and stoppers. Some of the stuff besides pins I used for pro would really frighten you!

Pitch 2 and 4 are the BEST!

Great video! what settings did you use? stabilization and horizon leveling on?
@dswanderinggoat Жыл бұрын
Only stabilization, no horizon leveling although that might be something to experiment with. This was shot in hyper view on the new GoPro 12 and Jessica was using my older GoPro 10.

Im pretty small and worried about the last traverse in pitch 4. How did you find it? 😊 also well done! Awesome lead!
