Actor David Selby brought a lot of charismatic, Haunting mystery to his iconic DARK SHADOWS character Role(s) as Quentin Collins he certainly put a chill down our (sister & my) spines: so, handsome. Also loved (and hated) him on FALCON Crest as Richard Channing. Awesome talent!!

Yes! David Selby (A.K.A) Quentin Collins,he was my absolute favorite on DS. I was still in school when this was on,what an incredibly handsome Man,then and Now! Yeah,I wished I could have been one of those lucky Ladies who got the chance to act in a scene , I'm 62 now,and I still watch "Dark Shadows" just to see Quentin Collins. I will always be a fan 4ever.

He is just so handsome! I was 10 when I watched DS and I thought he was amazingly handsome then and was in love with him. I loved his lips. Crazy for a 10 year old now that I think about it. I watch on Amazon now and still feel the same.

He was a beautiful young man, and still a very handsome man here. Had the looks to be a feature star, as did most of the cast; but the natural evolution to go onto "bigger" projects eluded almost all of these young could-be stars. The theatre background, the tone of soap-opera melodrama in the 60s, the inexperience/youth, the bad schedules, and the fact that Curtis et al were never really "actors" directors-- any one of those factors suffocated the should-have-been stardom Selby, Scott, Parker, and Frid deserved but never actually attained (outside of the DS world).

Loved Selby’s portrayal of Quentin. I never saw the character except when he was a ghost so never heard him talk. I pestered dad for Quentin’s Theme and that 45 single hangs in my basement. Quentin was my favorite Dark Shadows character. But Barnabas scared me so much I couldn’t see the rest of the episodes until boarding school in high school. Loved every minute watching all the episodes I missed as a kid watching every day at 4pm. I used to visit my father’s parents as a kid and their house was old and dark and creepy and old fashioned. Their dining room with a fancy old fashioned chandelier would’ve made a perfect set in the Collins home. Fond memories indeed.

I loved "Dark Shadows" growing up (I'm 65 now -- August 2020 speaking); but I've always wondered if Dan Curtis pulled the same stunt when he cast David Selby and Terry Crawford that Hammer Studios' director Terence Fisher did with Christopher Lee when Lee was cast as Dracula in his first film as the Count in 1958. Lee looked through the script, and read the opening scene with Jonathan Harker. Then he looked -- and looked -- and looked. "Where are the rest of my lines?", he asked. "Well, you don't actually HAVE any lines after that first scene", quoth Fisher. There had to have been a Big Moment when Curtis told David and Terry "Well, you're playing the ghosts of a Victorian playboy and a maid -- and you both get LOTS of screen time. Oh, one thing -- neither one of you will actually speak for several months." I'd love to have been a fly on the wall, to hear what came next.

Out of all the male characters from the soap David probably benifited the most. He played Quentin to a tee. Lets have a brandy!!!

David Selby ..Quentin.. gosh I remember his handsome face and fascinating character on Dark Shadows .. omg I wished I was Kate Jackson or Lara Parker a chance to be close to that man! Still handsome!

My brother went to WVU and adopted the West Virginia attitude of being ready to fight anyone who made fun of the state. I like to think of them as "the non-treasonists" Virginians who broke off of Virginia to remain in The Union. Respects.
