Mrs. Scott I'm your number one fan. I remember watching DS as a youngster and fantasing about you. You're so beautiful in whatever character you played: Maggie, Josette, Rachel Drummond; in whatever century you were in. I love you then and I hope to meet you one day. May success continue to be yours. Jonathan Frid was .my favorite actor( I wished I could have had played his part with you).

I had one heckuva crush on Maggie Evans when I was a teenager in the late 60's.... and now that I'm in MY 60s, I still do! Kathryn Leigh Scott is still beautiful! And so are Lara Parker and Nancy Barrett.

she's still the most beautiful woman ever since she's starrred in DS as Maggie Evans/Jossette Dupre. and once she's started as the most beautiful, she'll always remain the most beautiful woman.

I think that Ms. Scott was being way too kind about the 2012 movie. It did her, the 1966-71 series and the 1991 series, Ms. Scott's surviving and deceased cast mates, and, most importantly, the fans a complete disservice.

Here, here. IMO, the Johnny Depp Dark Shadows movie was so awfully, terribly bad as to be unwatchable. I tried, and I watched a little less than half of it before turning it off. (I also watched the last part of it later.) In a word: YUK! I'm so sorry that they even made that movie, and that it received all of the praise for having been made in an "alternative style", which in my opinion, did nothing more than insult the spirit of the original series. The praise is just a mountain of HORSE FEATHERS, IMHO. (Sorry, Kathryn, and all of the other contributors to the original series. I loved all of you as a kid--and yes, I was one of those kids who raced home from school so that I could be firmly planted in front of the TV at 3:30 every weekday.) At any rate, I only wish that any and all reincarnations of DS the original series or DS movies would stay true to the spirit of the show, and not try to reinvent it in some bizarre and off-the-wall reboot fashion that sucks all the energy out of what should always remain the proper suspense and intrigue. Dark Shadows is not a comedy or a farce. Why would anyone ever try to make it one?.........

@@anonamust8697 If I did a remake of Dark Shadows, first thing I would do is to not only make Victoria Winters a spitting image of Josette DuPres, I would make a love rectangle, by reintroducing the character of Burke Devlin, who would not only be a great romantic rival, but be a true no nonsense threat to Barnabas (in the mold of Mitch Ryan's portrayal), and have Dr. Hoffman still pine for Barnabas. I would also reintroduce the phoenix Laura as a supernatural rival to Barnabas, as well as reintroduce the unscrupulous Jason McGuire as a slimy human rival to Barnabas, not to mention Angelique keeping an eye on Barnabas, especially his interactions with Victoria. Trust me, she would do her best to push her to Burke.

@@libertubey2199 Clearly, the thing that needs to happen to Barnabas is a stake through the heart. Put the poor shlubb out of everyone's misery, already....... In your fantasy, I think that should happen--but only after he REALLY runs amok, becoming increasingly dangerous while biting people that we all care about, and at the same time, having all of your aforementioned foes hot on his trail. His final demise should be one in which he unexpectedly kills a couple of his main pursuers by outsmarting them and catching them off guard when they thought that THEY were the ones coming for him (Burke Devlin, Jason McGuire)--but then unexpectedly, Barnabas gets it from someone who you'd least expect (Victoria Winters, Maggie Evans), with Elizabeth Stoddard and Roger Collins standing by in disbelief. At the last second, Roger volunteers to do the honors (pound the stake into Barnabas' heart). Meanwhile, Angelique, who's been laughing at everything and everyone because she thought she was invincible and would never be found out gets freakishly caught offguard herself in a most cruel and unusual way (crushed or skewered voo-doo-doll-style in agony, or burned alive, or vaporized, or whatever--as long as it unfolds slowly and gradually, and as long as it hurts)--again, by someone you'd least expect--maybe David and Carolyn, with the help of Dr. Hoffman.

Yeah, the DS film was mezza-mezza at best. Tim Burton does direct some odd films, like “Mars Attacks!” And, I love the way the lovely KLS says “Howwwse” as in “House of Dark Shadows” in that extremely appealing Minnesota accent of hers. She almost sounds Canadian. Eh?

Her and Johnny have been good friends since they met when she appeared on the TV show he was working in called 21 Jump Street. Whether fans perceived the movie as good or bad, Kathryn appreciated all of the publicity that the original show received. Her and Lara got to promote their books and audio CDs and the original show and praise Jonathan Frid as the originator of the role for over a year after the Burton movie came out.
