I am watching this after many years, and I am really loving Roger's part in the show. Now, I am going to have to rewind to see Dr. Lang's scenes with Roger!

After DS left the air, Davis went on to do the opening narration for another show (1971, I believe) called "Alias Smith and Jones"(WESTERN). He guest starred in one of the episodes as a somewhat villainous character, and opportunist. Maybe a year into the series, one of the leads (Pete Duel) unfortunately dies and sometime after, Davis replaced him. I don't know if it was the shock from fans or a possible lack of chemistry between Davis and Ben Murphy that nose-dived the show. At any rate, both Davis and Duel (RIP) were excellent!! And as a side note, I think Roger Davis does favor Ron Howard a bit.

He was my first DS crush. Not always fond of his characters, but thought he was a cutie and easy on the eyes.

He was not one of my favorite actors on DS. Now I’m watching it again and he’s still not one of my favorite. He just seems like he was over acting back then. Sitting here watching him I don’t understand why I didn’t care for him in that part.

What a "hoot interview" with Actor Roger Davis our DS's Peter Bradford, Ned Stuart and my personal favorite by far is Charles Delaware Tate for he was part of the "answer" in saving Chris Jennings & Quentin Collins dreaded curse of being a Werewolf simply by painting a Portrait of them. Easier said then done for Mr. Tate was off the wall. Also, liked Mr. Davis in the Western TV Classic Elliot Smith & Jones.

I often wondered why Davis' characters were such mouthy jerks, after seeing this I no longer have to wonder. Torturing and disrupting other actors while everyone is trying to do good work. Oh the hilarity. Has anyone here ever worked any job with someone like this? Yeah, it's a world of fun...

Funny, yes, but isn’t that considered bad manners among actors?

Charles Delaware Tate was my favorite role of his. Tate was a young artist in 1897, an old creepy guy in 1969. I will never forget the scene where his fake head rolled on the floor.

He was known as a P hound, and the women didn't want to do love scenes with him, one important female character threatened to quit if she had to do a kissing scene with him, so she got out of it. HE WAS TOO HYSTERICAL IN HIS ACTING. MORE OF A RE-ACTOR.

I hated every character he played as well as his ridiculous methods and grating voice. Really wanted any other character to punch him in the face, especially the women. Couldn't wait for him to be gone for good. He and Don Briscoe irritated me the most, by far.

Mr Davis is an excellent actor. He sure did always know his lines lol, and then some. His description of torturing the actor who played Dr Lang is a riot. There was a scene where he slams a door and part of the set around him falls down. A true professional, he kept on going -- it was admirable
