That looked like a fun adventure for you and Shadow. So many simple things that can go wrong while imaging.

What a great campsite Lance, and a stunning final image. Hope the mount is OK 👍

Hello John! Thanks so very much. The mount survived yet again the abuse I put it through. The campsite is in Snow Canyon. It truly is one of the most beautiful canyons in the USA. I am fortunate to live not far from the mouth of it. You would love it, I’m sure! 😎🐶

Great video. You've got me fantasizing about living in southern Utah, I was fortunate enough to live in St. George for a month and I absolutley fell in love with the landscape. What a special spot and such a perfect environment for astronomy! Hello from Washington!

Southern Utah is truly beautiful! I love the red stone, blue skies, and the desert landscapes. Washington is a beautiful state too in a totally different way. We live in a beautiful country! Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎🐶

Hi Lance! Super nice image of the Embryo Nebula! It's a stunning target indeed with the star formation areas behind the dark clouds. You really have that newt dialed in well, and I like the nice tight star spikes you get with it on the large stars. I tried to capture the Geminids last night but only got to see a few before the clouds rolled in. Went for a big challenge, as I was hoping to show some folks the meteor shower via livestream from a Hyperstar'ed Edge 8' @ f/1.9, or my Rokinon 35mm @ f/1.8. I've been looking to schedule a camping trip to do a similar camping astro episode on my channel (via livestream hopefully) and would love to pick your brain about locations, setup, and maybe the possibility of a collaboration sometime in the future. I have a small teardrop camper that's rigged for astro and other outdoor adventures and I'm still dialing it in. I know you're more out West, and I am on the East coast, but I would love to do a show with you and Shadow sometime. My dog Thea is also the star of many of my videos lol. Clear skies and ad astra!

Beautiful image Lance!! Sorry you had that counterweight bar strike on your table and lost imaging time! Hopefully no problems with the mount. Maybe check your backlash. I bet it’s ok though. Also glad it didn’t knock over your table and computer! Hey, I think Shadow was busy looking for me 😉 Cheers! Doug

Your best shot, that I’ve seen, yet! I wonder how the Webb telescope would image it in IR? Shadow’s down vest goes with his coyote jacket nicely, even the wife approves : )

I really like how the adjacent stars are now coming out in pinpoint focus. Give me a shout if you come back through Santa Fe, I just started off rockhounding we can have an informal meetup.

@adventuresofshadowdog oh my goodness, I must get up there and investigate. I did not know there were camping places like that.

I watched it agian. The black clouded material looks like a rabbit chasing a cat. If you inlarge the colorful area. It looks like a man reaching through a door to a star. Is this the same nebula that was used in," It's a wonderful life. " looks like it to me. You do fantastic work. It's really amazing.
@adventuresofshadowdogАй бұрын
It’s so fun to hear what others see in these nebulae. It’s very much like looking at clouds here on earth. Everybody sees something a little different. Years ago when I lived in Japan, I learned that they refer to “The Rabbit In The Moon.” We, of course, refer to “The Man In The Moon.” But take a look at the next full moon. Once they pointed it out to me, sure enough, there is a Rabbit! Thanks as always for watching and commenting!
