Hiya Kev. Yep that light was hilarious. Sue always turned on the wrong one! 🤣🤣 The Book town was amazing especially the Tardis shop! We just loved that site. It really was a wild place and just loved watching the Red Kites. So many of them around now. They re introduced them in Northants so we see them every day around ours But we don’t see them perched either so was pleased to get those shots Thanks for all your kind words mate. And hope you guys are cozy. We’ve had a right day of it but all fine now!

👍 #32 Hi guys, wow that first place has decorated the room out with awards!!! I do love that bus stop and imagine Otters being seen there and Seals. Love the Benny Hill gate opening lol. Good stuff about the Red Kites and Ravens too. Nice Flights. Kittys was a let down n I bet you were hungy. It does look a great place to go birding. Thank you as always Dave and Sue, great to watch. 👍◕‿◕

More fantastic camping adventures! Great to see the Kites up close and in flight - interesting to hear them too! Beautiful! Cute town, too bad stores were closed. Sounds like it’s going to be cold - but I’m sure you’ll stay snug and warm inside your motorhome! 😄👌👍👍 Cheers, Jen

Hi Jen, Absolutely love the Red Kites, always have since they were re-introduced over here in the early 90's. This was a wonderful remote site, we really love the small out of the way places. Ah yes, the Lake District was cold, but most of the Snow missed us fortunately! Have a great week ahead 👍

Cheers Asa. Another brilliant couple of weeks in the North. although now this Storm hasn’t been much fun. Nearly got caught out yesterday morning and we’re trying to head South today but the lane near where we are was already flooded partly and the rain battering the van overnight has been crazy!! Might just batten down the hatches and ride it out!! Hope you’re doing ok mate 👍👍👍

Hi Em. Just loved Galloway so much! Peaceful and quiet and away from the crowds - maybe it’s because it’s low season? But there seemed so much space. We just got back from the Lakes. What a crazy couple of days. The storm has been dreadful. We thought we had lost it on Saturday but it was down South with a vengeance today. Glad to be safe and warm now!!

Sunrise was just stunning. It does seem like a beautiful place to stay. Wicktown looks like a fun place to explore; especially if, it has so many bookstores. Love the Dr. Who reference. 😂😂. That breakfast at the Hive looked amazing. Never seen a light on the bathroom. That's kind of nice. I've never seen a red kite, but they look a lot like our red hawks. The final town you shared is really quaint. You got to stay at some really pretty campsites on this trip. The clouds gave you a beautiful moonscape and then a gorgeous sunrise. Nice.

Hope so too Bruce. We’ve never visited this area (apart from forty years ago when we probably didn’t appreciate it) It’s wonderful - much more peaceful and quiet than the honeypot areas in Scotland and we loved it! The walk was fun but the little village didn’t have much open But the dark skies were so cool!!

Lovely video as always, would love to spend time in the Book shops in Wigtown, probably shut when we are down there at Christmas time, weather dependant of course. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then. I remember seeing Red Kites at Stokenchurch, outside High Wycombe. Also a tree full of shoes, don't ask I have no idea. Stay safe folks and stay warm. X

Wigtown was a really cool little place Lindsay. That Tardis type bookshop alone would take a week to see properly!! We loved our few days there - haven’t been for forty years!! You’re dead right about the Red Kites. That was the first area that they were re introduced. I remember going down there especially to see them. Now they’re everywhere!! Really loved watching them close up. We think a house around there was feeding them as there were so many! We’ve had a rather tortuous day! The storm was bad and we probably should have stayed put but we’re all cozy and warm now near Stoke. 👍

You made me wish to travel to Scotland badly in this movie! You had nice weather (and then rain we should not talk so much about), a beautiful landscape with wildlife and a town with books like no other place. Seeing the inside of the bookshops made the bookish part of me plan for a trip urgently, but the whole area is very beautiful and I can imagine how nice it must be on days with nice cool weather! When did you start to have a serious interest in wildlife and birds Dave? I do not think I could remember much about birds from my younger days and I still am a novice when it comes to the rarer ones up here! So hoping you are ending your weekend in a good place and that you are safe! All the best, Ant

@NBNatureTrailvan 26 күн бұрын
Cheers Ant. Very very surprised at this part of Scotland. It’s so quiet and peaceful - whereas other areas are always full of people. We loved Galloway. What a gorgeous place it is. Wigtown is a lovely little place. Our daughter is an online book reviewer and so we thought we would take a look around the town. You could spend weeks in the bookshops there!! And then the little site at the edge of the moors and mountains. So brilliant. Felt really wild there. We don’t get many places like that in Britain. I don’t know when I became interested in wildlife and birds. Probably my Grandfather but I always know that I have known about different species from a very young age. And Birds of Prey always fascinated me the most!! Just love Red Kites!! We’ve had a dreadful couple of days on the journey home Ant. The big storm here has been going since Friday night. Worst conditions we’ve driven in but all safe now at home. The van has had to left outside the storage yard as the roof is hanging off one of their buildings. It’s been a bit crazy in the UK this weekend. Anyway have a a great week ahead in the North Ant.

Will you stop it?!!! Every time you post I need to go there! Garlieston is fabulous. I described it in our video as entering an oasis of calm. Did you do the Fish and Chips on a Wednesday? Brilliant. Brough looks amazing and we are going to have to visit. We saw amazing displays from Red Kites at Poole Bank Farm in Otley but your birds were much closer. They are huge birds and amazing to watch. Nice to see and hear Ravens too as opposed to Jackdaws and Rooks all the time :). Ian

Cheers Ian. Yep we just loved Galloway so much. Garlieston is just wonderful and the Brough is such a fantastic place to just chill. We always wish that we had longer on sites and this one we will definitely be back just to. It just so peaceful and you really do feel that you’re in the middle of nowhere. I think that a farm at the top of the hill was feeding the Kites. They seemed to congregate around 11am and then suddenly there were at least five flying around. Loved the Ravens too! We’ve had quite a week this week in Storm Bert but all safe and sound now!
