Nice ride through D&G roads are usually pretty empty even at the height of summer most folk bypass the county on their way north to the highlands or big cities. D&G is about 6500 square kilometres with a population just under 150000 so you can see how it’s roads are quiet most of the time👍

Hi Jack, another great video, thanks. Just FYI … I spent the last few years fighting the frustrations that come with GoPro’s, I then switched to Osmo Action 3’s and what an UNBELIEVABLE difference, they JUST WORK, absolutely no issues what so ever and as they are cheaper, what you could sell your GP’s for would pretty much buy new Osmo’s. Honestly mate, you’ll never go back to GoPro I promise you.

Thanks for the recommendation to the A66. The road through Annan is quiet and it will take you past Calervock Castle, which is nice. On the minus side, that piece of tape over the speedo is a bit of a cheat. You should be able to control the speed of the bike, especially in built up areas. A road alternative is the old A74, now a B road, nice an quiet with no safety camera vans or other distractions. There's a nice road between Balgrennan and Stralton, although you may meet a timber lorry during weekdays. The road between Lockerbie, Eskdalemuir and Selkirk is nice in places as well and a good alternative to the Moffat-Selkirk road. Plus the road past the Meggat and Talla reservoirs
@motomogul
@motomogul 11 ай бұрын
Thanks Wallace. I put the tape on so that I can ride ‘unrestricted’ just like everyone else who doesn’t vlog does. Sometimes I do go over the speed limit but not often and not by much. The risk of prosecution for showing this, even briefly, is ever present and I don’t want to provide an easy pull to a lazy copper. To put this in perspective, I can see my speed on my phone satnav. I always observe speed limits in villages etc. To blur my speedo in editing for the sake of a few miles an hour would add too much time to the editing process. Therefore, tape it is. You may not agree with it and I’m not forcing anyone to watch. Thanks anyway for your comments buddy, hope you can see past the tape, so to speak. 👍👍👍

My first visit here, KZbin kindly suggested I watch and as soon as I spotted D&G I was here. D&G was a real discovery for me a couple of years ago on the long way home from the NC500 (plus a bit), what a gem. I rode the A713 from Ayr to Kirkudbright at the end of a very long day. I was blown away and MUST go back again. I recently rode the B6277 from Brough to Alston and then on to Longtown, where you turned left for Gretna I swung right and eventually ended up in Crieff. I am with you on the ABR... way too big for my tastes. I think you made the right choice going to D&G instead. Tip regarding gaffa tape. It takes up a lot less room if you wrap it around the centre section of double ended spanners. Great video, I've just subscribed and will be back for more.

If you haven’t explored the Moffat, Hawick, Jedburgh Kelso areas of the borders yet, they are must visits. Recently stayed in the Ettrick valley near St Mary’s loch. The b roads are amazing. Improved so that the massive timber lorries can use them - great surfaces, sweeping curves - and virtually no traffic.

What the F? Drink, why do you need it? Sounds a bad idea to me after watching your previous vids… boring without drinking what rubbish, not a good reason. Went to a bike rally earlier in the year with 18 mates, I had two drinks and stopped on the Sat eve, joined in with the laughs still. The next day not one of my lot came along on the ride outs that were organised… all had had too much to drink, missed out on a full days riding. Haha. Anyway back to your vid, some lovely roads there and super filming. Chin mount a bit pants then, I will stick with my GoPro 3M pads, never fail. BTW David and I loved the Northumberland 250 you introduced us too, we had great weather too. Ohhh and we were in Alston that weekend when you passed through, more editing to do!! Anyway must head to Dumfries and Galloway, looks brilliant. Safe rides. 👍👍

@@motomogul Silence is not golden. Don't follow the crowd. Only a few have respectable enjoyable videos. Unless you a millennial or gen x or gen z who thinks loud music is good everywhere. Obviously you never watched itchy boots or the other top adventure rider videos. They sometimes play a little music, but not loud and constantly. They talk and laugh or just natural sounds that you naturally hear outside. Unless you live and work at a carnival. Obviously you're not psychic either or you would have know I would do this. @@JohnSmith-uy7sv To imply that Itchyboots is so popular because she plays less music is a pretty ridiculous statement. I find it pretty insulting coming from a non content producer that you get the content for free but then feel compelled to complain about it. Just to put you straight, yours is the first ever complaint about the music I put into videos. I get very many compliments from people regarding the music and my choices of music. I suggest that if what I create is substandard for your discerning, freeloading tastes, you just stick to Itchyboots and don’t watch me. Nobody asked you to watch.
